This was such a great all day activity! My daughter and I did the swimming with Manatees and the StingRay and bought the photo package. You can spend all day exploring and not even get to bother with the food and drink package.
Manatees was amazing, I am not a huge proponent of swimming with animals in capitivity and I make it a habit to find out about the park before I go (or avoid them all together) but these manatees were born in captivity and there are actually fairly strict laws around releasing them because of what happens to them in the wild. This is really a must do, they are such peaceful creatures.
Stingrays is probably the best animal related activity I have done to date. It was amazing, even more amazing is the fact that they are free to roam and go out into the open ocean. They always come back at mealtimes because its a set schedule. I find it fascinating that they know when to come back but they know where their treats come from. I was on the end and they kept swimming around me and trying to find treats around my waist which was funny. Only complaint I had was around the picture taking, we got alot of good pics but the girl taking the pic literally was there for the specific opportunities and then never paid attention. There were so many times when she could have gotten some really great pics of it trying to climb up my side and some other things with the other guest that is was a little disappointing. Overall tho, amazing!
The only downside to me was the dolphins. I really have a problem with capitve animals and I am hoping that I just didnt see the shaded area that they have but it looked like the dolphins were kept in large shall enclosures with no shade and they are completely captive. Even the nursery area isn’t shaded. Again, I assume I didn’t see the whole area for them as this was just entering the park but it was still concerning.
One tip I have : DO NOT THINK YOU CAN SWIM ALL THE WAY ACROSS. My daughter and I thought the other side was close enough that we could just swim across to get to our Stingray appt. We made it but your close enough to the ocean barrier that the current is a bit stronger so it took alot of energy!!

We researched all of these commonly owned parks and chose this one. We made the right choice for what we wanted and I think most would. What we liked: beautiful setting, great shaded walkways with unique sitting areas with ocean or forest views; the manatee area was awesome; the zip line was fun and something the whole family could do; the water slide on the light house was fun. We usually don’t do buffets, but this one was good with food cooked fresh constantly and you knew it was up to temp so food was safe. Open bar was nice for parents to have a couple glasses of wine. We did not do any add-on activities with no regret – saw the dolphins jump and that was just fine. The lazy river and snorkeling were also great, but with the wind direction on our visit, I called the lazy river a working river and that also impacted snorkeling. The weather was not their fault. Probably the best value of all of these parks, but it all depends on what you want to do. We’d do this again.

We had a great time here with our 4 & 7 year olds. We rented a car so we could be on our own schedule. We purchased the special reef safe sunscreen as that’s the only kind that is allowed there to protect the marine life (this sunscreen doesn’t work very well but we survived) interestingly all around us people were spraying and slathering themselves with regular harmful to the reef sunscreen and not one staff member said a thing, and staff were all around handing out locker keys, towels etc etc. So I found that disappointing. I also didn’t like seeing the dolphins in such a tiny enclosure, very sad. Other than those things we loved it! Snorkeling was great, lazy river, zip lines…lots of fun. My kids loved the playground and small waterslide there. We enjoyed the food at lunch. We wished we had gone two days as there were lots of things we didn’t get to do.

We were taken here as half of a day trip off a cruise ship docked in Cozumel. It’s not our choice of place if we’re honest, it’s noisy, full of screaming, running kids and ways to try and get money out of you (photos with animals/animal encounters/power snorkeling) but – if you venture away from the restaurants and the central area you can find hidden quiet areas to relax or snorkel from. We spent a good hour at the manatee area and it was perfect. Whilst we personally don’t agree with dolphins/parrots/monkeys being kept in captivity and used for tricks/entertainment/profit we were able to get away from these things fairly quickly. The park is safe, the food nice enough, a good day out if you’ve got kids and water babies especially.

My husband and I had an incredible day at Xel- Ha and enjoyed all the activities very much especially the snorkeling. We appreciated the helpful staff with getting the equipment needed for the day and providing a locker. We started with the lighthouse water slide and loved it! Great fun! We snorkeled in the lagoon and found the water is clearer upstream closer to the children”s playground . It was a high wind day and the water closer to the ocean inlet had a bit more sediment. We snorkeled 3 different times for an hour each. The fish were beautiful and located in several places. We saw several different kinds of fish and our photos from our water camera are great. We enjoyed the bike ride through the jungle to the top of the lazy river and floating back downstream. A bit crowded at the top but opens up quickly. The ropes line obstacle course and the zip-lines near the bottom were great fun! We ate breakfast and a late lunch in the restaurant overlooking the lagoon and the food was great. I have a food allergy and the chef very nicely made me a separate dish for lunch which was much appreciated. We had time for one margarita. We stopped at the gift shop on the way out to buy some very nice Xel – Ha clothing, swim trunks and soccer style swim shirts that are very nice. looking forward to returning again in the future.
