This is our second time to XEL-HA. The first time was great but the second time was even better! This place is huge, it is beautiful, and it is an all day event. The first time we felt overwhelmed and lost with the size and activities. We had not planned on returning this year as we wanted to do 2 other excursions on different days but due to the wind and waves while we were there the week of Feb 21-28 most boat tours were shut down.
We decided to do XEL-HA again and it did not disappoint. Zip lining into the water, lazy river, sea trek tour, snorkeling, snuba diving, dolphins, speed boat, 131ft water slide, I could keep going!
Lets not forget unlimited drinks and food included and it was all great! A must do. Just be prepared to spend extra money for some stuff and wear good water/walking shoes.

We visited Xel-Ha today. Certainly a lot to do and see, and a beautiful scenery. The snorkeling was good, the waterslide and zip lines are lots of fun. Food and drinks were also very good, we liked the fact that it is an all inclusive park. The only negative points of our experience was the lack of guidance when you get in to the park, and the dolphins in captivity. We got a quick general explanation about the park from the XCaret representative when we first arrived, but once we actually got in to the grounds, though there are plenty of maps around, there was no guidance as to the flow of the park or best ways to experience everything in the park. While we eventually figured out where everything was, the initial “where do we go?” Was a waste of an hour. The main reason for the 3 star review is the heartbreaking sight we got when we walked in and out of the grounds, of the captive dolphins. These big animals are being held in tiny quarters where they swim in little circles all day. This park and company in general advocates for the preservation of the environment and the importance of maintaining ecosystems, but yet somehow justifies the cruel exploitation of wildlife. This is the main, and the unfortunate reason why I will not recommend this excursion/experience to anyone.

The grounds are beautiful and has fun activities BUT I CANNOT bear to look at the dolphins. They are enclosed in small quarters and just look miserable. As an animal lover, I cannot recommend this activity until the park starts treating them better.

This was our second visit to this park and it just gets better each time. Food and drinks (non-alcohol)were all included so there was no need to carry $. Lockers are plentiful and good sized. There was a charge for extra events and they weren’t cheap. The Snuba walk was $65 US. The Lazy River ride was awesome and included in the price. There were 2 choices. One meant snorkeling down one branch or inner tubing down the other. Inner tubes actually inflatable chairs. There are double ones as well if you’re with a child or want to be close to a friend. Other events include a sky bike ride, Zip lines, Swimming with dolphins, cliff diving and a giant water slide. And snorkeling. There are tons of fish to see.

This was our second visit to Xel-Ha, and we loved it just as much the second time! We explored all over, walked the beautiful jungle trail all around the property, including right down to the ocean front. Both times we started our day there by walking to the bike area and then biking along the jungle road to the area where the river tubing begins. We loved the bike ride along the road….such a great ride in the jungle. There is a little garden path area that you pass along the way that you can take the time to explore. The river tubing starts out in a narrow channel through the mangroves before reaching the greater expanse of water, and it was great fun. We didn’t do any of the zip lines or rope walks, cliff jumps, etc, because we’ve done all that before, but loved floating along watching everyone else doing them. We saw some really large dark fish (at least 3′ long) that seemed curious about the tubes and would come swimming right up underneath. This was near the end of our tube ride, not too far from shore near where the buffet area is. We noticed a lot of snorkelers in and around that area. We really enjoyed our buffet lunch there….great selection of food, and the drinks are good too!
We are so glad we were able to get back to Xel-Ha for a second time! Love this place!
