Loved it! I have never been to a place like it. We started with the tallest waterslide I have ever been on which was scary and exhilarating, but beautiful when you got all the way to the top and took in the views! I especially enjoyed the nature trails. The whole place was picturesque. The snorkeling and zip lines were fun too. There was a lot to do that we did not get to on our visit, but I would go again. Also, you’ll work up an appetite with all the walking and swimming, but rest assure the food is good!

My only critique is to maybe have more staff/lifeguards floating around in the snorkeling area for safety.

Overall, I would say a great place to bring your family as there are activities for all ages. Overall, I was impressed and had a great time!

The park was very packed and it did not seem like they were fully staffed.

Slide had a 3 hr line!

Food was subpar and you need to wait in long lines for beverages.

Travel agent didn’t disclose that commute was severely impacted by the sinkhole and the driver didn’t stop for a bio break in a 4hr drive.

This park is the simply the best the xcaret company offers! All natural beauty! It’s a great place to rest but have lots of fun with the family at the same time! Perfect for kids 4+ to adults up to 60. Food is more than OK and drinks are fine (no top shelf) . I would like to thank Fernanda at the Terraza snack restaurant!! She made our day and treated us so well, we could not say “no” to a 2nd visit on the same day!!

My 10 year old son and I stayed in Play Del Carmen and had a rental car so decided to give this place a try. Drive was about 40 minutes with a few slow downs. GPS took us to Xel-ha with no issues. There were staff directing traffic and parking attendance to let us know where to go. Ticket counter was easy to locate and moved fast with staff handing us waivers while we were in line. There was a gift shop as you walk in for missed items you didn’t bring. We bought water shoes and bug spray which were reasonably priced. We saw dolphins close up as we entered the park. This place is set up nicely. Not sure why all the other reviews say they had no direction but its basically a big circle. Its a trail around the lagoon with different activities. Plenty of signs and arrows to show you where to go. The free food and drink were nice. If your an introvert there are a lot of places you can lounge around including hammocks and beach chairs for crowds. Didn’t see any long lines except for the beer line. The buffet food was OK and staff was handling plates, food and everyone needed to be masked while getting food with enforcement. I have taken my 10 year old son to a lot of amusement parks and most of the time I just say Ill wait for you here unit your finished but I actually enjoyed doing all the attractions with him. Loved Zip lining and dropping into the water, cliff diving on three areas, a very long natural lazy river, caves and the lighthouse water slide. Life jackets, lockers, towels were all free. The restaurants, bathrooms, showers were all super clean. We saw parrots flying over all day which was amazing. There was snorkeling available but we knew it wasn’t going to compare to Cozumel so we didn’t do that activity. Water was pretty clean and clear considering you have people floating down it all day. There were crowds but the park flowed well with friendly staff waiting to answer any questions. I thought I was going to be so hot and miserable like most amusement park but stayed cool and relaxed all day. I’ve never wanted to go back to a place after I left but I’m definitely coming back and letting everyone know this a must go place while in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. We almost didn’t come to this place initially because of a few bad reviews but glad I leaned more to the other good reviews. Unless you don’t like water and fun I high recommend this place. Amazing experience.

My family had an ok time at Xel-Ha, but I wouldn’t do it a second time. Once you arrive and get your wrist band you enter the park and have to just find your way around. No real directions are provide and the place is a bit of a maze. They do have maps posted here and there to help, but it can be hard to read the map when you don’t know what each thing is.

You have to pass many areas before you finally get to the main admission attractions like the snorkel lagoon, tubing, and zip lines. The first of which is a dolphin area which I really didn’t like to see. Many of the dolphins were kept in small subsections of the lagoon barely bigger than a neighorhood swimming pool.

Moving past those we finally made our way to some lockers to put our stuff, but later realized we should have kept walking to the ones closer to the snorkel area. However those filled up quick, so we just had to stick with our original location.

The snorkel lagoon was good. For people who have never snorkeled or worry about the open ocean, it has a more controlled feeling too it. I personally like to scuba and snorkel in the open ocean, but there was still a decent variety of fish to see. I didn’t like having to wear a life jacket to snorkel at Xel-Ha though…

Breakfast and lunch buffets were ok, nothing great, but nothing bad. Just average food. The drinks didn’t have much alcohol, which is fine, I wasn’t there to get drunk. However, the wait to get drinks was normally pretty long though. At least 15-20 people always in every line.

We finally found our way around to tube through the mangroves. This area was really nice, but again they required you to have on a life jacket. Sitting in a tube, while wearing a life jacket was both uncomfortable and ridiculous. You basically sat leaning forward. I ended up getting out of the tube and floating along in the life jacket.

After floating back towards the main lagoon we came across the adventure area that had people jumping from the cliffs, climbing across ropes, and riding small zip lines into the water. They had 8 different lines going, 4 from each platform. The lines were long and the zip was short. We did it once and decided it wasn’t really worth the wait to do again. Had the lines been shorter or moved faster, we probably would have.

We did the tower slide and it was ok. There was no line, so that was a plus. But it also wasn’t exciting enough to do a second time, which explained the lack of a line. We opted to snorkel one more time and then called it a day.

I wouldn’t try to talk anyone out of going to Xel-Ha, but I wouldn’t try to convince anyone to go either. It was just ok. We enjoyed other things on our trip to Playa more.
