It was so much fun. My teenagers enjoy it very much. It was a unique experience. There is so much to do at Xel ha. Food and snorkeling gear was included.

The taxi cost us $81 total including tip from Iberostar Tucan. It would have been cheaper to book the Xcaret transport but we didn’t have to worry about missing the bus and had more flexibility. Plus we didn’t have to stop at any other hotels. It was worth it.

We didn’t get the photo package. We did view our photos at the end but because we got the package at Xplore, we decided to save some money. However I will say, the photos that were at Xel Ha were way better than our phone pictures.

They have towels there so you don’t need to bring one. They have lockers and places to buy stuff. I did buy a nativity Christmas ornament here. I don’t actually shop a lot so I am not interested in going to other shopping places.

We biked to the river first. We did the river with tubes. I liked how the single tube had a seat so I could get out of it easily. My husband and daughter (8 years old) did the cliff jumping. Then we did the swing zip lines. That was my favorite. After that we ate lunch at the Mexican buffet. The food and service were great. Then we went to go on the lighthouse slides but they closed them for maintenance. We should have done them first. So we got our snorkel gear on and crossed the inlet to check out the Cenote Adventure. It is a rope swing, kids like it more than adults. Then we swam through this one cenote that was narrow. You can’t swim in the other cenotes. We skipped the Mayan cave because we had been through the ones at Xplore. We snorkeled more at the inlet.

I have water shoes like Tevas that I wore to Xcaret and Xplor. This was the only place I wished I had slipper-like water shoes so I could wear them with the snorkel fins.

They turn off the drinking water fountains close to closing time. I wanted to fill my water bottle for the ride home.

If I came back I would want to try the Manatee Encounter. In the past at other places I have done a dolphin swim and stingray swim.

Great place to swim, the lazy river and ziplines were a lot of fun. I wish we could have had more cenote’s to swim in.

This is second time in Xel-ha.consider the bellow an instruction on how to do it.
Walk in, go to lockers change in swimwear.bring waterproof case
For mask and credit card.fanny pack sounds terrible but would do the job.go to red lockers get snorkeling gear go up tp start of the river to get a float and float down the river.snorkel zip line at-the end ,go to red center, turn back ur gear roof-and eat@buffet. Go to the big blue slide next. Dont be a whuss ride the slide, our 5yr old baby girl did it twice.
Go across the bridge, check out the cenote, go back to get ur clothes and change. Go to kid park, let the kids play for a bit cause its coming up on closing time anyway

I enjoyed the Tulum portion of the tour and our guide Jaime was great, informative and helpful from pick up to conclusion of the tour.
I was disappointed with Grupo Xcaret for allowing people to sign up for the Coba & Tulum tour (Coba had been closed for many weeks prior) expecting that they had an exclusive agreement to guide tours there, only to be informed the night before and at pick up that the Coba site was closed and the rest of the tour would be at Xel-ha park.
While Xel-ha park was ok, over eat & drink with snorkeling- though being 57 y.o. I don’t have much interest in tower slides and kids play.
I don’t have many opportunity to make the trek to this region and was trying to see as much of Maya ruins as possible.
Double check everything and don’t rely on the tour group to inform you of cultural sites availability.
