Most beautiful place I have been to!!! Its a big natural water park! Very clean, all inclusive so you wont have to worry about food, snorkeling gear is included and 1 time use only for the mouth breath thing so don’t fret. I felt safe wherever I went cause there’s a lot of people and staff around everywhere I went.
It’s also very kid friendly.
I suggest doing it full day just because you cant fully experience and enjoy everything that they offer if you do half day, its just not enough… beautiful place!!

I went here with my wife Nov 2018,it cost about £100 I think which included basic attractions. You have to pay extra to swim with dolphins and stingrays or for the underwater safari, we did the safari which wasn’t worth bothering with, It would be better described as quick stroll as far as the oxygen pipes to the diving bell will allow. I found visibility an issue using the diving bells. I’m not bothered with dolphins but as a keen snorkeller I wanted to see a stingray….they have the “stingray encounter” which I didn’t pay for and would advise not to. We snorkelled in the lagoon next to the stingray encounter area, this area isn’t netted and the stingrays come and go as they please, they know to come there to get fed during the encounter so snorkelling in the same area will guarantee a sighting.
I saw two that were about 2-3 feet not including tail than arter a while a dark shadow engulfed me and there was a 6-7 foot giant gliding beside me. My immediate thought was that it resembled the starship enterprise (slight exageration)
It was an amazing experience without which I would rate the park 3.

Such an amazing park. Really not enough words to describe the beauty of the nature. Had so much fun swimming and snorkeling around. We took the manatees encounter as an extra and did not regret it. It was such an amazing experience. Definitely would recommend it to everyone. Tip: take the photo package and do as many photos as possible as they are really beautiful!

Have always heard great things about this place so decided to check it out, however apprehensive knowing they have captive dolphins.
As soon as you enter the park you’re forced to walk past the dolphin enclosure. Their website reads that you can swim with them in their “natural environment” but this is absolutely misleading. The pools they keep multiple dolphins in are horrifyingly small. I’ve read that this is within the legal guidelines in Mexico, however their natural environment would be the open ocean, not tiny netted pools. Left us feeling uneasy for the rest of our time there.
Walking to the river float, we passed a group of macaws that looked anxious and had loads of tourists gathering around them taking pictures. Oddly enough, these birds didn’t move from that spot all day and we could hear them shouting wildly any time we were around that area.
Further towards the river entrance we passed the manatee enclosure and found the conditions the same as the dolphins. This park isn’t exactly small so I’m not sure why these enclosures are.
The river float was nice. Not many fish around, likely because of all the sunscreen being washed off of the hundreds of people in the water.
Went to the main restaurant a few times. The hostesses and servers were all very warm and friendly. The food was 2 star resort quality.
One positive is the all inclusive drinks. Spent the majority of the day drinking away the sadness from seeing the state of their animal attractions.
I wouldn’t visit again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to. There are other local and environmentally conscious companies here that can show you the beauty of this area without capitalizing on captive animals!

I have been to XEL-Ha 6 times in six different years and I always find something new. The snorkelling is amazing here. There is much to do for everyone from hiking to the rush of a jet boat. The food and drinks are great, always something for everyone. Trust me if you like the outdoors you won’t be disappointed. Cheers!
