We booked this excursion through our hotel in Rivera Maya. It was about an hour and 15 minute ride. We got there around 9am and the bus left at 6pm- which was a bit longer then we needed to be there, leaving at about 4 would have been better. With that being said food and drink was included so we were content. This is a beautiful park, we loved that there was no schedule, you could just enjoy the day. We loved the snorkeling saw so many big beautiful fish. I would HIGHLY recommend the photo package it is only $60 and you get all the photos online. They have selfie stations through out the park that give you the whole beautiful background as well as photographers walking the park. The food and drinks were great.

This place is a blast. Lots of water activities in the lagoon. I just wish we didn’t have to wear a life vest the whole time. The buffets are delicious and the drinks are strong. You gotta spend an entire day here.

Plenty to see and do at this natural water park. But the reason I went for the second time is that it offers easy access to see a diverse variety of fish, sea rays and more. They have information on the fish you typically seen in the area. We brought our own snorkeling masks (full face) but they provide the traditional snorkel gear as part of the park admission. Plan to spend the day… there’s so much to see and do. While there’s lots of people that visit the park, it doesn’t feel crowded when you’re snorkeling. In one area, the water was a bit cloudy. One visitor said it was due to people wearing sun screen that was not environmentally friendly. Please check your sunscreen before you go in.

This place is nothing but fun, good people, amazing facilities. A truly piece of heaven on earth. This park is amazing full of activities for everyone in your family where you can have fun and appreciate the greatness of mother earth at the palm of your hands.Great restaurants and all you can drink and eat. You need more then 2 days to complete all the activities and enjoy this park at a 100%. Experiencias Xcaret have gone above and beyond to create this paradise. The best experience we had was the SeaTreck. I recomend it greatly. Worth every penny. Great job Experiencias Xcaret. All your parks are the best. Oh did I’ve mentioned all you can drink?…lol.

Oh how we wished we could have stayed longer! My fiance, parents and I spent a full day at Xel Ha and we absolutely loved it. When we first arrived, there was a problem activating our Photopass which meant we lost some of our morning waiting around whilst they found the email to prove that we had bought a pass for the correct number of people. Once this was rectified, we went on in. Three out of our four party members bought some UV protective swim shirts, which were really well made. We used them for the rest of the holiday and will continue to do so.
The first thing we did was the lighthouse slide, which was a lot of fun – but also a lot of stairs! We read before we went that the blue and white slides were of different speeds, but the staff told us that they were the same and the blue ones were closed that day for maintenance. Next, we went on a clockwise circuit around the park and took in the cenotes, and caves. We had fun on the rope swing, and we weren’t worried at all when it started to rain.
My fiance jumped from the cliff of courage, but I didn’t have the, er, courage! Maybe next time! He said it was a lot of fun. After this, we went on the inner tube river ride. At one point, I dropped my snorkel in the water and some kind people helped me to find it as it sank down below – luckily it didn’t fall down too far to retrieve it! The second river route is via snorkel, and that was a lot of fun too. It definitely makes a difference to rent the fins as you can swim a lot faster and won’t tire out as fast. At the end of the river route is an area with zip lines and ropes which we had fun on.
The main draw of Xel Ha is the unlimited snorkelling, and the bay in the middle of the park. The bay is beautiful, and full of colourful fish. I saw lots of different species, as well as a stingray – twice! I think it was the same one. We loved this part and didn’t want to go, but it was close to closing time and we had to leave.
Everything in the park is maintained to a really high standard. The lockers are clean and dry, and there were no nasty areas like you often get in public bathing areas as it’s all well taken care of. The gear that you use (life vests, fins etc) is really clean and looked after too.
We had our lunch at Cocina del Pueblo, which was lovely. There were lots of regional Mexican dishes and some Yucatan specialities like achiote pork. These dishes were really good and we enjoyed tasting all the different foods. The selection was great and there were other standard options for those less adventurous folk.
The drinks were really good too, they had lots of fruit waters (agua fresca) in many different flavours. Definitely would recommend eating at this restaurant whilst in Xel Ha.
Overall, we had a wonderful day at Xel Ha and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this as a place to visit whilst in the area. I’d definitely return.
