This is a great park well done and generally really fun. The issue for us is we had no idea all the stuff was extra and you need to book it when you arrive. $242 for 2 people (adults) for admission and the bus ride. Then you arrive and they tell you the best activities cost extra. Well we wanted to try zip bike okay another $79 and my wife wears glasses and doesn’t have contacts so she wanted to do SNUBA (bell style helmet diving) another $119 USD. You cannot take pictures with the birds or reptiles unless you pay for the pics or use the cameras all around the the park. Jump off a cliff get a pic, lazy river 2 pics, zip line get a pic, etc. The pictures are another $59. It’s like going to Disneyland and have them tell you okay admission is fine, but now you have to pay for Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion and It’s a small world. Seemed like a lot and our tour company provided none of this info. It would definitely be appreciated if it was in the brochures put the pricing in the back page.
The SNUBA is pretty quick it was around 20 minutes. Mostly they have you posing for pics in between hurrying you along. The headgear works well the water did cover my mouth a lot and it went up to my nose. I didn’t know this wasn’t normal until after we got out. There are the usual tropical fish and besides sucking up a bit of water this was okay. It’s just better to snorkel and that is free on the lazy river and the main pool. We booked last minute didn’t have a chance to read much. So some of this is on us we usually check on trip advisor about everything we do.
The Zip bike was empty when we got there. It says it’s an easy ride around the jungle canopy. If you don’t ride a bike or if you have not ridden a bike for awhile this isn’t exactly an easy ride. It’s pretty boring there are 2 staged parrots 🦜, a small staged waterfall, and you go thru a small cave. I honestly wouldn’t waste the money again this took around 15 minutes to complete and it just left both of us a bit sweaty and the experience was not in the jungle canopy as described. We have zip lined before over and thru the jungle and that was heads and tails a better experience.
The lazy river was fun and it was a good run it’s included. Float down a little canal thru the mangrove to the main lake. You can bring some snorkel gear and you can ride a single or double tube. They make you wear a life jacket.
There is a jungle gym and some ropes to cross along the lazy river. There are also a few small cliffs you can climb up to and jump off. If you buy the photo package you can get a pic of you doing a jump. None of the cameras activate I]unless you first pay so if you want a pic then you need to do it when you get into the park.
There are buffets where you get to eat free. The best one had a very long line up we did get to go there for a quick bit in the AM, but after waiting for too long we gave up on going back it was packed and the upper part wasn’t open. The food is okay I wouldn’t get too excited, but the buffet is decent. Drinks including booze is free included with admission. We had a few drinks and if you drink a lot I guess this can help justify the admission. For us 3/4 drinks and lots of sun is enough. I have paid less for more in Europe on the Euro.
The park is really huge. My wife and I are against captive dolphins, but if you want to use them to ride or force them to do tricks you can. This is extra $$ of course not sure how much. You can swim with some stingrays same deal if you pay extra fees. You can also swim with and feed a manatee and again it’s all extra fees.
The park is cool if they have some type of family rate and you wanna dump a $1000 USD on a water park then this might be for you. Personally I thought it was way overpriced I would have just booked some snorkeling had I known that all the things we wanted to do were extra $$ over the park admission.
The park was clean and generally well kept. The equipment was good and everything seemed safe and well taken care of. Our day was fun, but not $700 Canadian for 2 adults fun. The staff was decent although the buffets were a little under staffed compaired to what we normally encounter in Mexico. They were all friendly enough when you interact with them.
Plan an entire day here try to get you $$ worth

If you are around the area, you simply must go. It is absolutely amazing, and great value for money. All inclusive food and drinks are very good, transport is top notch… Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough.
You will not be disappointed… Very tiring day 😊

OVERVIEW: Safe, clean and well run attraction that combines nature with conveniences of an American water park: lockers, towels, showers, slides, challenges, all you can eat and drink, all day; very friendly Mexican staff. Great place for kids and teens to experience snorkeling for the first time. Lots of fish, and water is clear enough.
TO GET THE BEST PRICE, we got a quote from the independent tour company (also in the hotel lobby), and then we asked our tour company (Westjet) to match. The tour guides are the same so they have no extra security or benefits to offer and they will match. By booking in person you also save on the transportation costs, which are additional if you book online before the trip.
GEAR: Don’t take towels or snorkeling equipment. They have it all, even masks with prescription (which I used). They ask you not to use your own sunblock because it affects the wildlife, so I would recommend bringing long sleeve shirts to prevent a sunburn. We all put sunblock twice during our visit, and still got sun burnt. The park has photographers and automatic picture locations all across the park and the charge is per person in the pictures, and for a party of 5 it was approx. $165 CAD. I wish I had brought with me a waterproof case for my phone instead, to take all the pictures I wanted, when I wanted instead.

Very recently spent the day at Xel Ha. They provide locking lockers, towels, showers, changing rooms, and all the food and drink. Your ticket also includes alcohol beverages. We had a great time at this water park! Bring extra cash or card for extras like swimming with the dolphins.

This was a fun excursion for the kids for the day. If you are a seasoned snorkeler and are looking for amazing fish and reefs I wouldn’t expect that here. For those beginners and with kids it was great. Not a ton of fish but still fun.
The food and drinks were all inclusive but most other activities were quite expensive. All Snorkel equipment was included along with towels. Just bring your wallet.
A must do is buying a waterproof case for your phone. It saves buying the picture package. We got amazing pics with our phone in the case as well as underwater video. The price was $35 US at the park, much cheaper at our hotel.
The water slide is okay for children but if you tend to get dizzy at all do not do it. It goes around and around and honestly you just feel sick. My 7 year old loved it though.
All in all a good day.
