I fell in love with this place quickly. There are beautiful creatures everywhere. Beautiful waters for snorkeling and the giant slide for adventure. That is only a few things. I can’t really describe the wonder of Xel Ha. You just need to go to experience it.
ENJOY

As our first visit to Mexico and a love of swimming and snorkelling, we had to give Xel-Ha a try….and it didn’t disappoint. The natural coves are beautiful with really clear blue water. We loved just snorkelling around in the bays as you could see so many different tropical fish within their natural environment. There are lots of different activities too including a lazy river, huge water slide tower, adventure course, zip-bikes, cenotes, general snorkelling and animal encounters (e.g. with manatees and stingrays, which you pay extra for). The water slides are within the tall tower and you can choose which route you prefer (fast or slow), it is quite a walk to the top of the slide but we really enjoyed it.
We loved the lazy river and snorkelling the most – when we were snorkelling in the main bay, a stingray was freely swimming around the area (from the nearby stingray experience section) which was lovely to see as they could freely roam the bay without being captive.
At the beginning of the park there are lots of free lockers with different coloured sections, these are only a short walk from the main bay area of the park. You can use their towels and snorkelling equipment (goggles, snorkel and fins if needed) but I would recommend wearing water shoes if you have them. The beach forms part of the park and you can walk down to the shore area from the park.
The park was busy but there were plenty of places to sit and sunbathe if you didn’t want to go into the water (including deckchairs & hammocks). Our ticket included a coach ride (with English translation of the park overview), drinks and a buffet lunch which was delicious and had a variety of different international foods. Before heading into the lunch buffet you have to make sure that you are mostly dry with no wet costumes. There were also a few gift shops for souvenirs. We spent the whole day there but it went so quickly.
Overall Xel-Ha was our favourite day trip and would highly recommend to others – a MUST DO excursion!!

Such a lovely park! There’s so much to do so two days in here would have been perfect. Great snorkeling in the lagoon, tuberide is fun, ziplines into the water was the kids favourite, and jumping off cliffs, swimming in caves, cenotes, walking or biking on the jungle trails, cool little playground for the kids, hammocks, lovely souvenirshops, everything! Payed extra for the dolphinswim wich wasn’t really worth it, and the pictures they offered from the experience was insanely expencive! Realised after a while that the prices of the photos was negotiable, so don’t pay full price!!! Should have skipped the dolphins and used the time for all the other fun stuff. All inclusive, so You don’t have to carry anything with you whilst in your swimsuit, just get snorkeling gear when you need it, or a towell, or food or drinks. This was the best activity for a family with kids in pur two weeks in Mexico!

A great way to spend a day. I made the mistake of trying to fit in 5 cenotes that same morning, all I got was leg cramps when trying to snuba, epic fail. Make it a point to spend the entire day at the park. This way, you take advantage of the food and drink. We took part in a few activities and they were great. Bring your wallet for the pics they take at your activities (dolphins) they can be pricey. We have a 3 and 8 year old and they had a blast I would definitely return again.
Now the one thing I will warn you against is getting off of your tube too early. It was closing time and we were trying to squeeze in a round on the lazy river. We were halfway at 6:15, so I made the brilliant choice of getting off in a location that had a large number of lifejackets on the ground. I thought we could just walk out to a path. Wrong! We were stuck and had to yell for help. There was no path to follow, only jungle. The lifeguard across bay heard us and radioed for help. Out of nowhere an employee came for us. Luckily we all had water shoes. We had to hike it through the jungle. We’ll laugh about it one day, who am I kidding…LMAO!

We loved this park! Theres so much to do and see! It was great that everything was Included. Food and drinks were great! The river was fun to do inner tubes on and the snorkeling was great there were so many amazing fishes! I would recommend buying an underwater phone case so you can take pictures! Theres so much to do here and it’s an all day adventure! Will come back here and I personally liked this better than xcaret.
