xelha has evolved over the years. it is still amazing. my suggestion is to stick to your plan. have a waterproof camera. Even better – waterproof phone case is awesome. Avoid add on ‘experiences’ as they add up super quickly. Food is really good. Drinks are awesome. People are super friendly. Your day will be done in a flash doing the activities that as INCLUDED in the price. Hints.. If coming from Cancun, take the bus. Do not get creative. There are military checkpoints along the way. It is super safe, just not something to play around with.

What a pleasant surprise this water park was. At first I thought the ticket price of $90 ($45 for kids) was a bit over the top, but being on vacation we just went for it. But the park itself is wonderful and truly unique to other parks we have been to. The kids got to zip line over the water and land in the water, do ropes courses over the water, jump off of 15 foot cliffs, do a huge water slide, swim in Cenotes, and so much more and just walking around was a joy. Plenty of shade, just a beautiful place to spend the day. And all food and drinks are included! The lunch spread in particular was fantastic, I had numerous plates of clams, shrimp and mussels. There were over 10 entrees to choose from, plus salads, desserts, drinks etc. And breakfast was quite good as well. Highly recommend this park for a family adventure if you are in the area. We were there on a Sunday and while it was crowded in places the park is so big it really never felt crowded. I do recommend getting there closer to opening. We went on the slide first and only had a 5 minute line so we rode it again, when we were leaving at 3:00 we checked to go on the slide again and it was a 30 minute wait so we skipped it.

We had been to Xel-Ha twice before this year. Once was back in 2004. It was a rushed cruise combo excursion. We snorkeled a little bit and went back to the bus and we were not impressed. We went back in around 2011 and took an all day excursion and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our only gripe was it was pretty crowded at the restaurant. Fast forward to this year…
We went on a Thursday and we did the lazy river, the water slide and several snorkeling sessions in the lagoon. Food was no issue as they had several restaurants to choose from now. Towels and lockers were plentiful and spread out throughout the park . Drinks were available all day at numerous locations. We fast walked the trail but skipped the zip lines. We had a blast but felt like there was more to see and do so we booked another all day excursion the following Tuesday. We went back and spent all day snorkeling, riding the mountain bikes, hiking, swimming in the cave and cenotes, and zip lining. The best part about this park is you can do as much or as little as you want at your own pace. We are doers, so this is right up our alley. We had another excellent day! But we never did any of their optional (additional cost) activities. It is already a must do for our next trip back to Mexico. You get a lot of bang for your buck when you purchase this excursion.

Lazy river, great food, nice staff. Lots of hidden treasures and fish. We have been 3 times over the past few years and enjoy immensely. Wish a few of the $ were part of the admission but still lots to do to fill your day!

Been to Xelha a few times now. We absolutely love it. The river is amazing. I love how around every corner there is something new. Try it. It’s worth it
