Visited with our family of 5, kids 16,16,12 and friends’ family of 5 18,16,9.
Pros: plenty to keep us all busy from 9a-3p. Safe activities, loved the lazy river. I know the reviews can be mixed, but, we LOVED THE FOOD. We thought it was plentiful, and fresh. Took naps at the end of the day in the hammocks, awesome. Wild life all around.
Cons: a little like a cattle call for meals. They move things pretty well, but, lines can be long. We didn’t love the transport provided by the park. Could have made the trip and getting in and out faster on our own.
Tips: go early! The park opens about 8a, and 1/2 of the people don’t get there until after noon because of excursions to Tulum. So the park is quiet and lines are shorter. We liked the relaxed atmosphere, but, were done and getting bored about 3:30p. We had to wait for our transport to leave at 6p.
If you are an experienced traveler/excursioner, or know the area at all, get your own cab. It’s quicker, cheaper, and you are on your own time. If you need your hand held a little more, book the tickets with the transport. They show you the ropes.

Booked this as part of our Tui Cruise. Took a while to get there (and back) but well worth the visit. Spent over 3 hours of a 5 hour visit just floating and watching fish!! Not enough time then to look at everything else- hence 2 days needed! It’s all inclusive, so you pay at the entrance and then food, drinks, swimming masks, snorkel, fins, towels, lockers and inflatables are all included. Extras include cycling through the trees (yes, really), swimming with dolphins and a host of other things. If you are in the area it really is a must. I would say it is HORRIBLY commercialised, but when snorkeling with the schools of fish you just forget everyone else and just listen to the sound of your own breathing.

This place is excellent for spending the day in the water and doing water activities. The park is not as big as Excaret but it is all inclusive including alcoholic beverages so plan on making it a whole day excursion. The food at the Jardin Corona Grill was so good that we just ate there twice and did not bother trying another restaurant. This is a grill so they have meats galore for meat lovers. The staff here was excellent as well. If you like to eat, drink and have fun in the water this is the place to go too.

A relaxing day where you can move at your own pace. The food and drink were good and the birds were nice. The entire experience revolves around being in the water so if you aren’t okay with that then I would take a pass. Previously, we went to Xplor which is a bit more rushed, but more to do than swim. It all depends on the preference of your group.

Xel-Ha was a blast! We have snorkeled on cruise excursions many times before but this was very unique. Where else can you snorkel in a cave, cenotes, along mangroves and stop for a break in a hammock! Besides the obvious fun of snorkeling to see fish and sting rays we enjoyed the lazy river, very comfortable wooden hammock-like chairs and the food. My husband liked the chairs so much he is determined to make one when we get home. The food was better than we had at an all-inclusive resort last year. The restaurant has excellent pancakes, ham and cheese omelettes, horchata and other juices, and of course salsas for your tacos or nachos. My husband tried the zip line that you hang on to until you hit the water. It was fun but not a huge thrill if you are an adrenaline junkie. We tried one upgrade, the zip bikes, and they were a really neat experience. We were so glad they provided mosquito repellent since you are literally biking through the tops of the forest. All in all it was a great way to spend a day.
