I went to Xel-Ha without any expectations and loved it. I was browsing a dolphin swim website when I got a deal I couldn’t pass up. $99 for Dolphin Swim + Xel Ha. If you can find this deal on the Delphinus website, take it!
The park is massive. You will want to get there at 9 and stay still 6. It cost about $20 by taxi from Tulum.
Avoid going on Saturday. It was slammed with locals but still wasn’t THAT busy.
Overall, the food, drinks, and Attractions were worth the price.

1st time I came to Xel-Ha was 15 years ago and I’ve raved to everyone I know about it. I started to think I might have built up how good it was in my head and I might be disappointed when I visited again but after my 2nd visit I can confirm it’s just as I remembered and absolutely out of this world. You can easily spend all day here without getting bored. I hope I get a third visit here in my lifetime!

I had a wonderful experience diving in the cenote with Ricardo and Fernando. This is tankless diving, there is a nexus floating on the water from which the air is supplied through a hose to your regulator. It is difficult to describe what it is like to look up from the water to the rock ceiling through which the sunlight comes in through holes (like portholes on a ship). You go through a short training on how to use the regulator and equalize pressure before going under. The dive is about 12 feet and it is the closest thing to a dive in open water (you do not need to have a diving certification for this activity).
Do not touch the fish, or anything on the bottom – it is not good for your health (some of the species are venomous).
This is the activity I liked best at Xel-Ha.

1st visit here as a family of 4. Both my 15 year old son and 7 year old son had a great time. Your entry ticket includes food, but not all rides, these are extra. Also photo package is additional.
Staff were great, the park is stunning and once your out of the madness of the locker rooms, it feels calm and spacious.
It’s very busy during peak spring break, but hardly no queues anywhere. Worth every penny!
Enjoy the “Cliff of Courage” like my 7 year old did 10 plus times.

Its a long day but there is a lot to do. Be patient and prepared, this place is very crowded. Pass on the Dolphin and Manatee enclosure, the less people who do this the better chances they will stop exploiting those animals. Tube the river, snorkel the bay, ride the slide and walk the trails. The food was actually better than the Iberostar resort and the beer was perfect at the end of a hot day. We bought the picture package and we really happy that we did, do it early when you arrive to avoid the crowd at the end of the day. Have fun
