Their eco friendly sunscreen is a charade. Our first clue was when we were all sunburned despite twice applying their sunscreen. (I think it’s not waterproof). Once we thought about it, there were plenty of signs the eco friendly sunscreen exchange was bogus. There were way too few occupied exchange cubbies. They gave us each only a tiny packet of lotion. There was no line at the one site to get more sunscreen. That site had only tiny bottles. The staff seemed surprised to see us. Each of us had to go individually for a tiny squirt! The sunburns impacted the rest of our vacation. If they’re going to put on the pretense of being eco friendly, they should at least dispense a sunscreen that protects their guests. Consumer Reports recently recommended two eco friendly ones.
Food was good. Lazy river was our favorite part. The lifeguard at the start of the lazy river did not give clear instructions and got short with our third grader.

Took a family of 6 to Xel-Ha park today. Kids ages were 14, 12, 7 and 5. We bought the basic ticket and we ran out of time doing all of the stuff in the included activities. We did purchase the zip bike activity for the older two. Purchased the picture package as well. Just like the idea of getting action shots while jumping off cliffs, zip lining. and tubing down the river. Would study map of park before you go……they don’t hands maps out, being eco friendly and all. There are huge maps all around if you need them though. I would also wear tennis shoes or some aqua sock/shoes instead of flip flops/slides. Pain to keep up with the later and I saw a few people actually fall down on the walkways and they were all in flipflop/slides. Walkways are extremely slippery, be careful. Once you get life jacket, snorkel, mask, keep it with you for the rest of your day, Will need all of that gear for cenotes, tubing, etc. Wear long sleeve rash guards and hats and you don’t have to worry too much about sun screen issues. Buffett lunch was delicious too. I would arrive as soon as park opens so you have time to do everything. Stuff starting closing down 5:30 ish. Kids already asking to come back.

Outstanding day at Xel-Ha. The activities included were more than enough to keep us busy for the day. The lazy river down the Mangroves was very relaxing. The Lagoon during Snorkling was massive with plenty of schools of fish and Stingrays. The all-inclusive part was great. The food and drinks were very good. I would definitely return and recommend this park to anyone.

A definite must see when visiting the area. So many activities that a whole day isn’t really enough! My boyfriend and twin 14 y/o visited recently and it was a sure fun-filled day! You are pretty much in the middle of a jungle encompassing a lagoon; the property stretches for miles. There are no hand-held maps of the park, so my suggestion is that you take a picture on your cell phone so that you can follow where you are going. All of Mexico is trying to be Eco-friendly, so they don’t distribute paper. There are large focal maps all around the place, but we found it difficult to know which direction we were heading all the time. First of all, when you get there…try to find a locker to put your things in! There are numerous locker rooms, but if you’ve never been there you have no idea where these are located. Obviously, the one closest to the entrance fill readily, so you have to keep walking to find the next one. We never ended up putting our stuff in a locker…we placed it one location and knew where to find it. The day is long, but amazing! Food is mediocre but it is all you can eat and they try to have something for everyone. The drinks are also unlimited. Plan to be tired at the end of the day!

Customer service is great, as all attractions within the xcaret network. If you visited years ago, you no longer need a deposit for the snorkel gear. They simply scan you wrist band. Best price is through the official website. If you are within a 20 minute drive, you are better off finding your own transportation rather than adding on transportation to your ticket at $30 per person.
