Well what can I say. After hearing and reading good reviews I was less than impressed! The manatees were kept in an enclosure so small they could hardly move! The dolphins enclosures also looked to be well on the small side for the animals. Before spending money on this park I would recommend going on blue carribe Sian Ka’an excursion where you can instead see these wonderful animals in their natural habitat. The kids did enjoy the slides at the lighthouse and playing on the zip lines but definitely not worth the money spent on our tickets. Very disappointed

The park is absolutely beautiful but takes some walking to get around. The river and lagoon are the biggest part of this park. Should enjoy snorkeling, swimming or floating in water to get the most out of this one. The water slide had a 1 hour wait and other reviews stated it was just okay so we skipped. We did Tulum with Xel Ha do we didn’t get here until 11am and it was crowded at that point. We have done other parks and usually get there at opening and it is always really empty so we can truly enjoy the beauty before the crowds. I recommend you get here early to enjoy the scenery. Food is included and a decent buffet with drinks included.

We visited Xel-Ha on a Monday with the all-inclusive package. The park was not as crowded as I thought it would be. We had a group of 4 adults and 5 kids. That in itself was an adventure.
We started the day on the 40 meter slide (x2). We went on the zip lines…over and over (the kids loved this best). We walked to the top of the river and rode the tubes through the mangrove forest. We should have picked up our snorkel gear before going on the tubes. Getting around on the tubes was difficult and very slow. The lunch buffet provided a wide variety of food. We ended the day snorkeling all over the place. We saw lots of different fish in various shapes, sizes, and colors.
We had to do a lot of walking. The park is pretty big. Halfway through of visit, all of our feet hurt from the water shoes. Just a warning.
A great time was had by all.

We spent 2 weeks in Cancun, and did tons of excursions while we were here. This was by far the worst one. Online, the pics and descriptions look great. However, half the things to do in the park you can only do for an extra fee. They say “All-inclusive” but all that means is food and drinks. The attractions worth going to are an extra fee once you get in. Plus, there were so many people, you could hardly move around the park. I was looking forward to the river swim, but it was nothing more than prodding hundreds of people through a tiny mangrove whilst we continually said “sorry” and “excuse me” as you couldn’t even move without bumping into someone. The park is older and a little run down for the cost of the ticket. Not to mention, the transportation to and from was ridiculous. On the way there, we had to listen to someone who claimed to be a “guide” ramble on about numerous things that didn’t matter. The one thing he did stress was that we better not be late for our pickup which would leave promptly at 6pm. At 5:45, EVERY PERSON IN THE PARK was funneled to one area to catch 40 different buses, and they only had 2 people standing around to tell everyone which bus to get on. Needless to say, we didn’t actually leave until 6:30. After all day in the sun, fighting crowds of people, and being disappointed at all the extra fees, we would have been happier just having a pool day at the hotel. Don’t waste your money. Though this is supposed to be one of the best, there are many other excursions that are better.

We were a family group of 19 ranging from 5 years to 82 years old. There was something here for everyone. We loved the all-inclusive fee because we didn’t have to worry about paying extra for food, lockers, or any equipment. The food and drinks were pretty good, especially since it’s a buffet at an amusement park! The big thing to keep in mind is that the park requires A LOT of walking! The property is so huge and rides/attractions span up and down the river. The lazy river was fun but because the river is so long and doesn’t have a strong current, eventually we all were bored and just got off on one of the piers along the shore. The cliff dives were lots of fun. We were shocked that almost all the kids with us were brave enough to do the 15ft dive! They loved it! The ziplines are ok. We’ve been to better. They seem to be more of an excuse to get people to swim in the water. The lines don’t actually go very far. They just go back and forth a short distance. The rope obstacles over the water were fun and even a bit challenging. If you want to do the lighthouse waterslide keep in mind that it is built like a light house…. so you have to walk 12 flights of stairs to get to the top! It’s also a very long spiral ride down! Snorkeling was enjoyed by everyone. There are lots of tropical fish to see in the water. You get to keep the actual breathing tube that you use. The kids also enjoyed seeing the manatees. They only thing I can think of that required extra payment was the dolphin adventure. You can see them in the large pool when you enter. You need to pay to interact with them, so we didn’t do that. There are also lot of photographers on site as well as lots of locations to take pictures. You can access your groups photos with your wristbands. The cost was only $18 for all the pictures they took of your group which is a bargain! If we ever go back to Mexico, this would be a fun adventure to do again. It was expensive but included transportation and food and it was also an all-day excursion so it was worth it! Oh and the one thing you do have to keep in mind is that because it’s an eco park, not all sunscreens can be used there. There are certain chemicals that are banned from use because they don’t want to contaminate the water. They do provide all-natural sunscreens at the park but they were expensive. If you can purchase something all-natural before getting there, you’ll save yourself some money.
