I have been to Xplor and Xcaret parks and absolutely loved it and highly recommended to everybody who is looking for active things to do. Xplor is more for older kids to adults since it consists of lots of activities. Xcaret is good for all ages since there are activities and also sightseeing for the ones who are not as active. So on our third trip to Cancun I wanted to take my family to try out Xel Ha. Now there are 4 adults and 3 kids between 2.5 and 6 year old. I read there is a playground for the kids so I figured to give it a try.
First of all, the park is far away from the other 2. Took us 1 hr from our hotel Vidanta and $100 taxi each way. An additional 30 mins from Xplor and Xcaret for those who had been to those parks. The park is small but because of the windy trails to get from one spot to the next makes it far. The main attraction there is the lagoon type for snorkeling, tubing or just swimming. We took the kids to the playground area and it was a joke. There is a little water slide that dumps you right into the lagoon. Right next to it is the frog floaters for kids to craw from one leave to the next and that it is. Playground has a treehouse that kids can run around and climb on. The water is not shallow so adults supervision is required if kids want to swim.
Other than that, there is a zipline and the light house water slide that are included in the admission. Oh yeah, walking around the park is free too. There are a few activities there but they cost extra and I am talking about $50 plus per activity.
The best part of this park is food and drinks are included and can be consumed throughout the day.
For me, we were there for a few hours and left. We were disappointed that there are not a lot of things for the kids to do other than swim in the lagoon.
I would not recommend this park if you have young kids. It is not worth the money.

Spent 10hrs here and didn’t see it all.
Snokelling area is massive. There are fish but not loads and certainly less than when I was here 20yrs ago.
The huge slide is great fun, even if the 20mins queue isn’t.
Onsite food is good .
Zip lines and ropes are great fun.
Don’t bother with the photos..too expensive.
We did one activity, cycling through the jungle which was a unique if unexciting pastime. Over with in about 20mins.
I wouldn’t encourage dolphin encounters.
Enjoyed our visit.

We got to Xel-Ha as the park was opening. We headed straight for lockers and snorkeling gear. We visited this park for one reason- snorkeling! We got everything we needed and went straight for the water. I liked that there are LOTS of entry points into the big lagoon. We chose a quiet spot towards the back with comfortable chairs and umbrellas. Stairs led the way into the water. We were disappointed by the amount and type of fish we saw. We snorkeled from one side of the park to the other. I did spot a small Ray shuffling deeper into the sand. We got out and walked the park and saw some fun things. The slide, raised bikes (you still have to pedal), obstacle courses w/ zip lines. I jumped off a cliff which was fun! There is a river area w many roots for fish to hide under that I think would have been better for snorkeling had so many people not been just hanging out & swimming instead of snorkeling. I think because the gear is extra many folks skipped it and just used Xel-Ha as a laid back water park. We ate at a Mexican restaurant just off the water. The buffet was only so-so. We both felt a bit queasy afterward, but probably because it was such a heavy meal after being in the sun and water so long. We had a drink and people watched which actually turned out to be our favorite part. I was disappointed with Xel-Ha overall but because we stayed at Xcaret resort and it was free- it wasn’t a horrible way to spend a day. I would definitely not pay to go back.

We’d never heard of a natural water park but if was definitely more fun than we expected. The most swimming we’ve done in ages, but also totally worth it. From snorkelling with the fishes and sting rays, to zip lining down into the water, swing ropes, lazy river, bike riding to the start of the lazy river, tower slide, it was an awesome jam packed day. There’s plenty of different restaurants to eat from as well and lots of places to just stay hydrated. They even have a bar, if you wanted a cheeky tequila sunrise. They have this cool thing where you can scan the barcode on your wristband at different activities and a picture will be taken of you and you take as many as you want and view them at different checkpoints around the park. This saves you carrying your phone around the park and lets you enjoy without being conscious about your phone. It’s only $60 to have them sent to you as well, which is very good for the amount of pictures you will take around the park. It’s an experience of a lifetime and if you’re in Mexico and want something to do where you couldn’t do anywhere else, visit Xel-Ha.

Excellent trip …. all the food and drink you can eat . food is excellent by the way . We se did the sea walk with scuba helmets 5 out of 5 .
Bike ride to the lazy river and snorkels for an hour then hopped in a rubber ring . The daughter and son then did some cliff jumping and zip lining .
We bought a photo package ( worth the outlay) and the rest of them did the water slide .
also swam in the Cenotes . So much to do and so little time to do it .
Will definitely do it again
