We attended this park as an excursion through Thomas Cook.
The entry price was fairly reasonable keeping in mind that you can eat and drink as much as you like.
The day itself was great. Snorkelling, lazy river, zip lines; all fantastic and the kids loved the whole day.
The problem was the extras. If you want to do any of the extras they offer you pay a price, which is fine, but some of them are stupid prices. We really wanted to do the sea trek, which we booked and was then told it was $260USD extra. This is a lot if you have not budgeted for it.
So, the day was great, the sea trek was actually amazing, but the extra costs were a BIG surprise.

I have been visiting Playa del Carmen for over 30 years and have always wanted to take a day and visit Xel-Ha, but thought it just for families. Wrong, this place is for everybody. So, let’s start with buying your tickets. You can buy them at the gate, but the prices posted there are higher than what you can negotiate downtown with the street barkers. I purchased mine off 5th Avenue from a man by the name of Chen. At the point of purchase, I made sure I took picks of his ID, and him and suggest you do the same with each transaction… just in case. But Chen did do us good and we also purchased another day excursion to Tulum from him. Another advantage to purchasing it from a tourism company is they will ensure your ground transportation to and from your hotel. They were right on time.
This is definitely an all-day excursion, and the day will fly by so fast. We were some of the first to arrive and last to leave. All you need to bring with you is your bathing suit, possibly a cover for your phone/camera, and a positive attitude. Once you paid the entrance fee, you don’t have to spend any more money, but there is plenty you can spend money on. As I negotiated a 30 minutes dolphin experience into the package, I didn’t have to spend money in park for that, but the photos are another story. Souvenirs are abundant, for a price. But food and drink is included. And the food is very good. Seriously, you can eat your spend here if you so choose.
I understand how some folks feel about captive dolphins, but they do an excellent job at this park ensuring the health and welfare of the mammals. The interaction they allowed us was very educational and protective. I had a blast! And, yes I spent the extra money for the pics. The walk around the park will take just about the entire day, with stops along the way. If you are brave, I recommend taking the slide down the huge tower slide… I did it once, and that was enough for me. The cenotes at the park were so-so, but still worth the visit. What I enjoyed a lot was the float on the lazy river to the lake. Very relaxing indeed.
At the last hour and a half of the day it was back to the lockers to shower off and grab my dry shorts and go eat… again. The buffet has little bit of everything, the wait staff prompt (could be friendlier), and the drinks endless. It was a fun day indeed, one that I would enjoy repeating again.

Wanted to visit here to experience a water theme park that never seen anywhere else before. Chance for my 9 and 7 year old to snorkel for the first time. Really enjoyed seeing the tropical fish and rays. We cliff jumped, went on inflatable donuts through mangroves and tropical sea. Saw unique formation of rainwater river and sea water meet. Did zip wires into the sea, huge twister water slides and bike rides through the forest. there are extra paid options to swim with dolphins, dive with rays etc, bit we didn’t do that. We got taxi from Riviera Maya and paid tickets direct as was cheaper and got longer at site ( arrived at 8.30am and left at 5.30pm, site closes at 6pm). Lots of taxis waiting at exit so easy to get one back. Would recommend you pay in pesos as price cheaper from current GPP exchange rate than dollars. It’s all inclusive, so all food and drink (inc alcohol) included. Towels are provided and free lockers. We all wore beach shoes based on other writer tip here and would highly recommend you get them. Wore them all day in water and walking around. Have seen better tropical fish as dived on reefs around the world, bit my kids absolutely loved it as never seen anything else like this before. Everyone gets life vest to wear as mandatory in the water, but always recommend you go as confident swimmer. I would go back if in Mexico again as we had a really great day out.

Had a great time the park. For the most part everyone was snorkeling. They had many buffets and bars throughout the park that were absolutely opened to everyone at no cost, but try to tip off course, the workers were amazing and willing to help with no hasstle.
** They don’t have many vegan options but they do have Vegetables and Greens and maybe a few more other things**

Our second time here and it’s just as fun as the first! If your looking for a great “add on” do the Zip Bikes! There amazing, imagine a recumbent bicycle suspended on cable network above the jungle, through the jungle, over lagoons and through a cenote! Both my wife and I love them! Then we hit up the lazy river, all the photo spots we can find, the new giant tower water slide, so fun, a great day with great sites and great food, add this place to your must see list!
