this park offers everything to blow your mind, dont miss the night show Ive seen more than 3 times and it still incredible.

With this park being included with the Hotel Xcaret all inclusive package we decided to give it a try.. from Googling my wife and I couldn’t get a great feel for what this park was about. To explain it in our words I’d put it simply.. it’s a zoo.
There is great wildlife throughout the park. Great shows.. the show with the swinging men on ropes was hard to even watch.. just amazing to see the skill of these professionals. I would say this park is the BEST Xcaret group park for a family with kids of all ages. There is plenty to see and do. My wife and my favorite part was floating down the river and seeing the fish and cool camera ops.
Bought the photo package.. very very worth it. Great pictures. Good quality. Good quantity.
Recommend water shoes. Must have.
Food – food was pretty good. No complaints. Good assortment of all cultures of food.
T-LO11_11 –
We booked Xcaret Plus, which included round-trip transportation. We booked it through our hotel concierge, using a company called BD Experience. Overall. we had a good time and kept busy all day with our 15 and 12 yr old kids. There were some frustrations (see below) but overall a fun day was had by all.
Highlights:
-Natural pool
-Snorkeling
-Evening show
-River float
-Good lunch buffet (included with Plus admission) at restaurant marked #31 on map.
Lowlights:
-Persistent and very annoying upselling of additional activities and items beyond what was included in the package, during the entire drive to Xcaret. This continued once we entered the park, when our Xcaret representative escorted us into the park and falsely told us we had to buy the photo package upfront instead of at the end of the day once we actually saw the photos. This was not true.
-We were told towels were included with the Plus admission package but they weren’t.
-Only departure times offered for leaving Xcaret were 4:40 (too early) and 9:40 (too late given show ended at 9:00). Would have preferred an additional option of 6:40.
-Lines were too long for bathrooms/changing rooms before the evening show
-Sold out of food during evening show. I went to get dinner at the concession stands during the second half (after intermission had already ended) and they were sold out of hamburgers, pizza, etc.

I was most impressed by how well organized this place is . They have several changing areas, bathrooms, lockers . You are given a wrist band which you scan through out the park at picture locations and at the end of the day you scan at the kiosk to purchase pics.
Everyone must wear a life vest in the water, again these are located everywhere and in different sizes.
Most enjoyed the underground river with beautiful clear water , slightly cold at first but refreshing.
Multiple eating locations with beautiful architectural details. Yummy food and great selection of agua frescas

We got the unlimited pass as we were staying at the occidental right next door. We had 4 days and still only was able to really see 1/3 of the park. The prices in the park are very reasonable and the exchange rate is usually much better than at the resorts. I do recommend either bringing or just bringing a snorkel and mask. Our kids wanted to snorkel several times and we found it much easier if they just had their own. A plan of attack is very helpful as the park is huge and there are so many things to do. I doubt that anyone would ever be bored here. There is so much to see and do. They also do a great job of having lots of places to sit and relax some of which are removed from the regular walkways. We were able to find a natural pool that no one else was using to snorkel and this was at Christmas time!
The nighttime show is a must-see. It fills up fast and we had to get there 45 minutes early to get good seats. There are not very comfortable. If we did it again we would gladly pay the extra to get the reserved seating. The show is 2 hours plus and can be a bit long for small children but it really was amazing. We will definitely be back and it will probably take another week to see it all.
