We visited the park in December. This was my second time and was able to appreciate it in a different way. The park is huge and you can easily miss some events. Although the park get full quickly, it doesn’t feel crowded. We attended a traditional yarn coloring and learned about how the Mayans used elements of nature to color their clothing and yarn. The cenote is quite relaxing. The food is good. The show at the end of the day is absolutely beautiful. Gives you a perspective on the history of Mexico and the cultural differences between some of the states.

XelHa is by Xcaret is a lot of value for even the shortest trip to Cancun area. There is a variety of fish if you like to snorkel, and there is some appeal for almost everybody. It is also near snorkeling at Cenotes Grutas (Wyndham Garden/Coco Beach vicinity). Expect to spend an entire day until closing at Xel-Ha park, which features mangrove and cenotes or various habitats. Xel-Ha -Tulum by XCaret is ranked the #1 tour in Mexico. Xel-Ha will be fun for kids of any age, as long as the weather is predicted to be fair. There are several open-air restaurants, and you can expect to be outdoors for basically the entire day in a contained natural environment. If you’re in the area, it’s worthwhile combining site visits to take photos of the Mayan archaeology that is literally ruins. If you’re interested in Chichen Itza pyramid, you might be sold a package in combination with Xel-Ha; however, both could take the greater part of two days. We paid more to take each of the tours separately: Xel-Ha alone occupied an entire day (8:30-6:00), separate from Tulum, and nearly a full day was given for Chichen Itza (“Deluxe” in combination with snorkelling cenote Hacienda Chukum through Adventuras Mayas). Xel-Ha by XCaret was the kids’ greatest highlight. To reach the jungle shoreline oceanic theme park, the busride took a long time (48 miles or 77 km) with stops in Cancun, passing by Playa Del Carmen. The best part was snorkelling in Xel-Ha to the inlet, where we saw small stingrays, colourful fish, and even a barracuda. People like riding the large inner tubes and splashing down from Tarzan ropes above brackish /river water. The Snuba Cenote and Manatee Encounter didn’t seem worth the effort, because we could watch plenty without purchasing packages: wading cenotes are included in the entrance fee, as well as Dolphins’ feeding without invading their pool. Much of the area of Xel-Ha is accessible with extensive trail loops, but everything is overpriced once you’re inside the park…especially the photo packages.
Tip: bring a ZipLoc bag to safeguard your cell/iPhone, so you can take selfie-photos without watermarks at the cenotes and “lazy river.” Bring your own mask if interested in exploring the marine park; the ones offered at the park are cheap and must be worn with the free life jackets. A good mask guarantees clearer views of the ocean life, and you might request fins at the park to swim. Be on guard for pickpockets, or make use of the lockers by the showers!

We were there December 11-18. Bought the weekly pass, but 3 days would have been fine. Not that much to see, just a river boat ride, a river swim or walk attraction and some animals. The entertainment at night is very lively with lots of vendors.

My wife Sabrina and I ( Salim) had a great pleasure to use this service and all 3 reps :
Ramon, Alvaro and Gerardo were super nice and very professional. Our visit to Xichen Itza and the cenote were excellent . Thank you for a great experience!

Definitely recommend visiting, and I suggest getting their photo package. It is worth it. Tons of animals, great food, water to swim in, shows, something for everyone.
