I would put this nature reserve/ecological park at the top of the list of things to do.
The park is laid out beautifully, and has many attractions, we were there a full day and didn’t do half the things. The park is very clean, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
We booked a tour that included transportation to and from our resort, entrance fees, a locker, changing rooms/showers and buffet lunch. It was the “Xcaret Plus”
Vicki we went to the beach, had a buffet lunch, which could’ve had some more selections, and the underground river; note that there are three different rivers, and not all of them offer snorkeling options (but are included in Xcaret Plus).
We paid extra to do swimming with the sharks. Yes, sharks! It was fantastic.
We opted not to do the show. We think it may be geared to children.
There is also an extensive dedicated area in the park for children.
We also paid $60 for the photo package. There are numerous photo opportunities – Simply scan your bracelet, pose for the picture which is taken in a few seconds, take as many shots as you like, and you have access to all your photos online. This is by far the best photo package of any park we have ever visited.
I must commend the park especially for finding my phone and credit cards which I had left in a random spot. They had logged the return item in their database and were able to return it to us fairly promptly.
There were a lot of people when we went – probably one of the busiest times of the year, but we had no trouble getting access to anything. I would recommend going to the beach or other attractions first, everyone seems to go right to the river when they enter the park. Even then, the staff was kind enough to point out that we may want to come back later because it was crowded.
Plan on being there the entire day, start to finish. It’s well worth the trip.

Everything was really nice!
My biggest recommendation is to leave your cell phone and cameras in the lockers. There are so many “scan” cameras located throughout the park, and the photo purchase price was reasonable.
The Sea Trek and Acceleration Boats were great. The lazy river is, as well.

Okay park, overpriced no doubt. How come this place cost so high?
Also did not like the way they use dolphins! Didn’t know about the dolphins before I got there..it seems like the most popular attraction in Xcaret. They hustled them all day long, non stop, to make the crowed pleased. Watching it just made me sad!
Also pumas and jaguars were stuck in a small poor habitats, that definitely not suitable for that wild animals…(you’ll be lucky if you see them anyway)
Huge buffet, but low quality food.
And overall was medium and below experience.
