Had a cracking day. Lazy river, all day snorkeling, cliff jumping, water slide and assault courses.
Tips:
– take water shoes, they are a must!
– book in for your experiences/extras
at the beginning of the day.
– do the lazy river/assault courses as early as possible, they get busy quickly!
– take advantage of the photo pass deal, there are cameras everywhere..
– don’t bother going if you can’t swim!

We decided to head out our hotel for the day.
This place is beautiful, great views lots to do and all inclusive. Food & drinks both great to.
The lazy river was fun, we also paid extra to do the zip wire cycle bikes which I would say were worth it.

Xel-Ha is the best park among all the parks in my opinion. I love all the water activities it has to offer. Also, there are a few dining options on site. While the buffet is okay but good enough to keep your stomach satisfied. Snorkeling condition is quite good during a sunny day. My favorite part was jumping off the cliffs and I believe I did five times at two different locations. Make sure to get the photo pass which you can share the cost with your group. The pictures are of great quality and there are many good spots that you won’t be able to take a picture by your own camera. The only thing I would’ve changed is that I went with a tour company. We waited for an hour before the bus actually started moving in the morning. By the time we arrived, it was almost noon. I would recommend get your tickets online (discounted if booking early), and find your own transportation to get there early.

An honest review..
Took my family to Xel-ha for the day as a break from the resort. As others have stated this place is beautiful. A handful of reviews on this site have states that the ability to swim is a must or if you cant swim, don’t go. Pure nonsense!
Let me be clear. There is a difference between not having the ability/skills to swim and fear of water. I do not consider myself a swimmer and by that I meaning I fell out if a boat it would not be pretty. Reading some of these reviews really discouraged me from purchasing tickets but my kids really wanted to go. I enjoyed everything the park has to offer. I did not partake in the cliff jumping because I am.not comfortable submerging myself in water. If you lack the ability to swim but are comfortable ina lifevest than you will thoroughly enjoy the park. I put on a lifevest (everyone in the park wears one, so you will not feel alienated), took a leap of faith and got in the water… guess what, with a lifevest on you float! Not only did I enjoy snorkeling all day with my kids (saw cool fish), I ziplined into the water and had a great time while barely getting my hair wet. If you cant swim but are willing to get in the water with a lifevest on you’ll have a great time. If you truly are afraid of the water my heart goes out to you and maybe this type of excursion is not for you. We decided to purchase tickets for Seatrek and that was really fun. I’ll admit to having a mild panic attack when I first went under but was able to relax and recover. Tip for anyone interested in Seatrek but has water issues, dont take deep breaths. Take short even breaths and you’ll be fine. Saw lots of beautiful fish and rocks/statues. Photographer took lots of amazing pictures!! Speaking of pictures, purchase the picture package. My family had roughly 200 pictures taken and they are fantastic!
Couple if negative thoughts.. we did hit see a few of the advertised sea life such as Ray’s or turtles. That’s not to say that they are not there we just did nit see them. The park is massive and we may not have been at the right place at the right time.
The food and drink is ok, lots to choose from. I 100% got sick from eating at Xel-ha. Only lasted the evening. Could have been a fluke but be careful. I will say all of the cooks were very clean and wore face shields.
All in all an amazing day with my family and I would definitely enjoy the park again however in my next trip I will spend more time snorkeling!! Final note.. if you cant swim it’s ok, you can still enjoy the entire park!

This place was almost 2 hrs away from my hotel which had me pissed off because I didn’t know and the driver didn’t say anything. Once I got settled in the park, that 2 hr drive was WORTH IT!!!! I booked xel-ha with dolphins swim/snorkel. It’s one of the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! So worth it! The pictures are pricey though, but worth it! The food was better than my hotel lol! So many different options. The drinks were also better than my hotel! Just snorkeling out there in the water was good! I got on the slide and i will never do it again! I hate roller coasters and I didn’t know there was a fast drop and I almost died! Not for me! A lot of stuff you have to pay for and there’s a lot of walking to do! I had so much fun!! I will always recommend xel-ha!!!
