This was an excursion we did with our family of 5 (kids ages 8, 11,13). It was overall very lack lustre and we would not do it again. The one highlight of our day was the free chocolate workshop with Jesus. We learned how cacoa beans are roasted and got to make our own chocolate bars. Our entire family loved this experience and we can’t thank Jesus enough for making our day feel special.
Otherwise everything else was a huge money grab. All the other activities were extra charge over and above the admission. We got the plus admission which included lunch and snorkel equipment. Everything else at Xcaret can be experienced on any typical resort in Mexico. The evening show spectacular was enjoyable, but was much too long to keep our attention. The first half was best (highlighting the traditional Mayan culture), but the second half was not for us. Our family much preferred Xel Ha! If you only have time for one excursion we suggest Xel Ha as it is more action packed.

Okay, let me start by saying the park is really cool but IT’S NOT WORTH $150.! Everything is pretty and clean, color coordinated and there is a lot to see but it’s not worth what they charge and it’s not worth your whole day.
After you swim in the caves, watch some animals there is basically not much more to do but pay for an activity. The cheapest one is $40. and from there up to 150$ which is crazy!
Horse’s weren’t showing, maya town (which was my main reason for going) was being remodeled or something so yeah, not worth spending your whole day.
NIGHT SHOW IS CRAZY AWESOME though! If you’re the type of person that love’s knowing about different culture’s they you will enjoy this show a lot.
Food is good, restaurants have a great view, well most of them and waiters are really nice.
The fact that they still have caged dolphins and sharks and OFFER this activity is a no no for me, I wonder whey is this legal in some parts of the world, but… anyway.

We were staying next door at the Occidental and had unlimited access. Went into the park 5 or 6 times and each time discovered something new. Amazing place and so much to see with the highlight being the evening spectacular. Loved it!

I love Xcaret! There is so much to do there! Swimming in the caves is my favorite. I also got to swim with stingrays! 10/10 recommend going to Xcaret when visiting Mexico! You won’t regret it!

Those familiar with the quality and cleanliness of Disney resorts will agree – if Disney were to build a Mayan experience, this would be it. Except Xcaret is the real deal! No painted concrete to faux statues – swim down an underground river that the Mayan’s once enjoyed; see, touch, and explore actual ruins. Great food, great shows – hands down one of the best days of our vacation. Get there early to see it all. Worth every penny
