Was a cool visit during día de los muertos. We came in the evening so half of the park was closed. Only extra was celebration of dia de los muertos but we had to pay full price. Restaurants were good in the park.

I’ve been to this park 25 years ago and now, just recently. so much has changed, and improved! Check out the Fish Therapy at the ocean side- it’s so worth the $16! we took the underground water caves all the way through the park up to the beaches/oceanfront. Since we were with Hotel Xcaret, we had our own entrance (since we didn’t have to pay for our gear) to the lazy river. The buffets were numerous and had so much great food to choose from! All seating is under a roof with open sides- and yet it still feels cozy. The Mayan village hosts an amazing ritual every day at 5pm- it’s well worth it!

This park surprised us by having 2 full days or more of things to do and see. The most popular attraction is the choice of 3 rivers to float on wearing life vests that take you through caves and jungle. The water is about 6 feet deep and the rivers each take about 45 minutes to complete the float trip. We also enjoyed the aquarium, an aviary, butterfly house, manatees, sharks, dauphins, Jaguar, puma, and bromeliad and orchid exhibits. There are nice beaches and snorkeling available as well as a children’s area but in the 2 days we did not do those since we could enjoy them at our resort, The evening show was very good and a definite must see, but lasted 2 hours with a lot of it in Spanish. This park had won awards for its ecology programs and we could understand why. Lots of activities for both couples and families of all ages. We stayed at the Occidental XCaret next to the park so we could easily walk there and back and even come back to the resort for a meal. Weekly passes are available for those who want to do it at a slower pace. This park requires a lot of walking over uneven trails so it is not very handicapped friendly and is not suited for those with limited walking ability.

We spent the day at Xcaret and managed to get through the entire park. I loved the cenote float but there were a lot of people maybe controlling how many enter at a time? We lost our phone in the underground cave and they had divers that found it right away. The lunch buffet that was included was wonderful Lots to choose from and very fresh.
The show about the history was fascinating. like having a history book acted out for you.
Well worth the admission plan to spend at least 6 hours.
I would suggest a few more restrooms would help .

Hard to put into words how amazing this park is. From the bus ride in from our resort, with a very clear explanation from Alejandro of what to expect throughout the day, to the huge buffet lunch and all of the exhibits we saw, nothing was without a high level of service and quality. To just see everything would have been worth the admission price. However, we also chose to swim with sharks and walk underwater with sea rays which totally blew me away. The staff were exceptional and our experiences will last a lifetime.
If you are wondering if this will be worth the mo, don’t even question it for a second. You will not regret it!!!
