This place is very interesting. A perfect day or rather afternoon and evening shows. When you are in the area do not miss. Really great fun and the evening Maya show is fantastic.

We booked tickets online and got 25%off on xcaret plus tickets thru master card. They verify a ticket print out with the original credit card.Plus tickets had lockers, bags, life jackets, lunch included which is totally worth it.
The pick up came on time. Our guide Alphonso gave us tips about how to start and end.If u want to buy additional activities, thenu can do when u get to the ticket counter entrance.
But let me say that u really have to plan your day as there are literally tons of activities you can do there.

We reached at around 10.10.We planned to do the swim in the river first, then lunch, children’s world, pre Hispanic Mayan dance at 5,shower n change ,then watch the evening show.
The swim in the river takes you to one end and the evening show is back right at the entrance gate #60.

For picture lovers,u can pay extra and get puctires at the end. They have scan your wristband and pose throughout the park.

For people who want to get pictures from your camera ,u can walk thru the park dressed up beginning of the day, then come back to the entrance and do the swim in the river. But that’s walking back to the entrance again.

Xcaret plus has lockers located at #7 where u change ,put change of clothes n things u want to get when u reach the end of the river in a bag provided with a lick n key.Make sure u have a carry bag to put all your stuff. If not you can always buy bags at multiple shops throughout the park.

There are refreshments available throughout the park.

The water was cold at the beginning 22degrees C compared to 27deg C outside, then you get used to it.We swam with our go pro,my cellphone in a waterproof pouch and swim shoes on.You also get fins for swimming as an option.

The one hour long swim in the underground river but actually inlet of the ocean,so salt water was an amazing experience. The route has been made with multiple interesting points you can stop to take pictures. One point even had 100s of bats on top of the cave over the water.

This was definitely one of the highlights of the park.

I really wanted to try mexican buffet but the
caribbean restaurant#36 was located right by the ocean with a beautiful view,so we had our lunch there by the sea side.

On the way to children’s world,we caught a glimpse of jaguar. After playing in the children’s world,we showered as it was so hot.It was refreshing to walk back after the shower.

We walked back to see the mayan village, aviary with beautiful birds with waterfalls. After that we watched the pre-hispanic Mayan show which was really amazing! It lasted about 20 minutes but everyone watched with pin drop silence as the dancers dressed in masked costumes showed their talent with so much energy and life like performance.

Then we went to shower and changed.Ordered pizza at the entrance near the gift shops which took a long time and we were pretty late to get middle seats for the evening show.

You can book dinner at this show and u will get VIP seats to watch the show.We took pizza n beer and sat in one of the topmost rows.Initially we thought we will get no seat as we saw lots of people rushing to get into the stadium. Its really huge and can seat thousands if I am not wrong.

The evening show starts with Mayan culture, then Aztecs and then Christianity taking over the region. It was a top class performance something like that made for Olympics ( in my opinion). There was not a single moment of boredom and each show ended with a big surprise element.Everything was planned to perfection with amazing continuity between each performance.I had tears in the end as it was so fulfilling and touched by the performance. The show lasted for 2 hrs from 7-9.Then we wAlked back to the parking lot to take the return bus.

Thank you Xcaret for a wonderful day.We only did 2 activities, swim in the underground river and children’s world and viewing a few spots on the way,Phew!I don’t know if we had to do anything like snorkelling or swim with dolphins/ other wster activities,we would have to come back another day for sure.Being realistic and planning is really crucial here.

We would love to go back and do the remaining activities.

We visited Xcaret Park yesterday and the experience was fantastic. One of the best excursions we have done. For the additional cost we also had dinner at the show (the food was excellent and we got great seats), took up the picture package option and did the parasailing. All were worth the money. The buffet lunch had plenty of options and the food was good. Overall we enjoyed the river swimming (cave side) the most. A great experience would like to look at going to their other park offerings now!

M A R V E L L O U S P A R K! One of the best days of my life! It’s a sublime place, like no other park on the planet, and it’s worth every penny! I stayed a full day in the park, and there were loads of stuff still to do and to see. It doesn’t matter what people say about their impressions, you should see it for yourself! High quality entertainment is available from the moment it opens in the morning until late at night when it closes. The attractions are so varied that there is certainly something for everyone’s taste. My favorite parts were the beach, the rivers, the dolphins tank, the sharks tank, the turtles pool, the puma zone, the butterflies zone, the musical shows, and the food at the restaurants. Just could not get enough! It’s superb! Would like to return to stay in the resort a couple of days!

We did Xcaret park with our kids (age 4 and 8) and had such a good day! We went as a tour on our Royal Carribian Osais cruise. I was debating to get their on our own or with the cruise tour. So glad I picked the tour. Its a bit of a trip to get there (with a ferry and a bus) and I was glad the tour took care of the connetions and our guide helped us navigate the park.

    1) Planning our day – The park is very big and we did not see everything. We started with the river swim, then had lunch then explored a bit on our way to the kids area. I was stressed about seeing everything and what order to see everything in. My advice is to do the rivers first, they are close to the entrance. Then explore as you make your way back to the entrance. There are lots of ruins and animals around every corner. I wish I hadn’t stressed so much about planning our day. It all worked out wonderfully.

    2) The rivers – They were much longer then we expected. Taking about 45 minutes. Our kids got a bit tired and cold. But kept going. There are rest points along the way and about 5 points where you can get out of if you want. There are 3 rivers and the staff pointed us to the one that is better for kids.

    3) Age requirments – I could not find info on an age restriction for the rivers, because there isnt one! Everyone gets a life jackets so our kids did fine. Our four year old held our hand or rode on our back. We had to kind of pull her along but she was able to do the whole thing. I think if your kid is comfortable in the water they will be fine.

    4) Gear – They have a system for bagging your belongings and bringing it to you at the end of the river.

    5) Food – There are lots of resutrants, buffets and snack shops. We ate a resturant near the beach and got a big plate of mexican food to share. The guide told us that that was cheaper then the buffet.

    6) The kids area inculdes slides, swimming hole, small splash area, climbing nets/tunnels/fort, waterfalls and small bird area. We enjoyed the area a lot.

    7) Photos – There is a system where you scan your braclet and you get your photo taken at various points. I think we paid $40 to $60 for our photos. I would recommend this as you can get some cool photos in the caves.

    8) Gear – Watershoes are optional. I didnt wear mine in the caves but did in the kids area. If you have them, wear them, if not, dont stress it. Also, lots of people wore their camera around their necks in special water proof bags that you can buy at the park.

Overall we had an AMAZING day and all agreed that it was one of the highlights of the trip. There were other people there, but it wasn’t overely crowrded or busy. This place seriously has it all, beaches, food, animals, adventure, ruins. I would go back again for sure and highly recommend.
