One of my favorite parks. Been coming here since they opened and come every time I’m in Playa del Carmen. Great place to spend the day. Love the show in the evening. Will keep coming back even though the price has become somewhat steep.

We went to Xcaret last week, it was a great experience. We carefully managed our itinerary and did both the Blue River and the Maya River.
Our suggestion:
1. Pack light so that you can skip the lockers. They have great system to bring your stuff to the end of the river.
2. If you are buying the plus ticket, hold your buffet option till late in the afternoon. It would be a long day in the park if you stay for the show. Eat breakfast before you enter, and buy some snacks if you are hungry around mid-day. Eating the buffet around 4-5pm is a better option in terms of managing the energy level with less disruption to your itinerary.
3. You may consider do all the dry activities first (brown, white and blue routes) first and then go to the river. That way you may avoid the big hurdle of people in the river and have the comfort of walking around with your dry clothes as much as you could.
5, Stay and see the show!!! You won’t regret it.

We loved the underground river. The beach, and natural pools were nice. Lots of natural beauty to be found. My only complaint is I feel it’s a bit overpriced. I also had a flashback from when I was hear 20 years ago. It’s a bit confusing to find your way around.
If you are taking the xcaret bus. I would say the early departure was not quite enough time to see everything.

This was such a Nice albeit expensive way to spend the day!
It was my first time seeing so many animals in real life! They have tons of different animals here like dolphins, sharks, flamingos, big cats, parrots, manatees and much more! If you want a one stop shop to see them all this is it!
I really enjoyed the underground lazy river and walking around. The snorkeling cove was a bit of a let down, since there wasn’t the variety of fish I was looking forward to seeing. A lot of the experiences are paid for additionally so I think the marketing is misleading. When they say 60+ things to do they really mean “seeing a flamingo” is a thing to do or a Mayan statue is a “thing to do”. So keep that in mind when booking.
The restaurant buffet was nice and vast. They had great too I stations with different varieties meats. Lots of other Mexican dishes as well. the margarita there was the best I had in Mexico! So that definitely made it worth it alone- for all you grown ups wondering 😉

Completely shocked at how the management team at Xcaret ran their park during this pandemic. They take all the precaution in the world prior to getting on their busses (taking everyone’s temperature, spraying down all of your bags, pouring hand sanitizer in your hands, and making you disinfect your shoes prior to riding the bus) but then tell you to take your mask off while going in the river Excursions. This makes absolutely no sense! They crammed a million people in with no proper social distancing. Everyone was literally in top of one another breathing all over each other. The river course lasts about an hour which you’re basically stuck in this petri dish exposing yourself to God knows how many possible covid carriers. I wore my mask the entire time and moved over to the side to allow people to pass for a bit but it was completely overwhelming. The park managers should be ashamed of themselves on how they handle crowd control and mask policies. You trek the water with your head ABOVE water so there is absolutely NO reason why people can’t wear their mask. I wore a fabric mask and when I did get wet it was not a big deal. I was still able to breath completely fine with it on. The hypocrisy is incredible. Once you leave the crowded river all staff is basically on mask patrol for the rest of the park. Are they for real? Where it matters the most, in the river,, they don’t enforce any policy.
Ironically enough the staff at Xplor mandated mask usage even in the water/cave activities which was refreshing to see. They even had guards swimming around the caves making sure people had their masks on. And this activity was also in water, so it makes NO sense to me that Xcaret would say “no mask usage for obvious reasons”. They are completely negligent and should reevaluate their protocols for the safety of their park guests during this global pandemic.
Thank you to the staff at Xplore who enforced the mask and social distancing policies by waiting a couple of minutes in between groups before allowing the next group to go through and guards mandating the use on all rides and excursions. I much preferred Xplor over Xcaret.
