Carlos and crew truly enjoy their work and it shows. All precautions were taken. The food was amazing. The snorkeling route was full of beautiful fish and was easy to keep up. Just an amazing experience from the beginning to the end. I would definitely do it again

We went on a full day excursion…. to Tulum in the morning and on a catamaran/snorkeling adventure in the afternoon. Our tour guide at Tulum, Yolo, was very knowledgeable, informative and kind! We really enjoyed our time there. Then onto the beautiful catamaran…. what a great and relaxing time! The crew was so much fun!!! Snorkeling was a blast and the guides were so helpful in showing you where the sea turtles, stingrays and other very cool things were. They checked up on us often to make sure we were ok. My flipper kept falling off and the guide was right there to help me every time. Lunch was great and they sure are accommodating and generous with the drinks…. We never had to ask for a refill! Such an amazing day!

I’m going to start by saying, overall we ended up having a great time because we were with friends and ended up meeting wonderful people on board that were a lot of fun.
That being said, what really made the rating so low was the act of one of the crew members, which I will get into in a moment. For “Cancun Adventures” as a whole I would give them a 3.5/4 out of 5.
What they don’t tell you is that the bar is pretty limited (which make sense since it’s just a boat), but we we advertised that there would be a full bar and WiFi (which there also is not, but totally fine). Also with the snorkeling they don’t advertise that it’s only for strong swimmers and you’re only out for 30 mins. I personally did not go snorkeling (bc I’m not the strongest swimmer) but I was told that it was ok. Where they took us there wasn’t that many fishes and the Corel reef was so-so.
The food was also ok, but not for people with any food allergies or those who are picky. They have one option so you get what you get. It wasn’t bad, but I have a shellfish allergy so my options were limited.
The crew on our boat (other then one in particular) were very nice and helpful and accommodated as the could. The music was fun and they took request.
So there was one crew member, Andres, who tried to take advantage of us. There was a group of six and most of them were pretty, blonde and young Americans who had been drinking (so you can only imagine what an “easy” target we were). On the boat before we docked at Islas Mujeres he pulled us aside and told us that if we want he would take us to a beautiful private beach that wasn’t crowded and had beautiful fish and that he would take us to a shopping place we’re he would get us good deals. He also took (more like stole) a bottle of tequila from the boat so we could really have a “party”. Long story short, the shopping was one of his friends places that charged an absolutely outrageous amount of money for the smallest things. One of the girls spent $70 on a blanket that should have been like $15 or $20 (I know, we’re dumb). Then he took us to a beach that was part of a hotel. The beach was fine but it wasn’t that great. He kept trying to get us to take shots of tequila. At that point I was very aware of how sketchy this situation was so I was keeping an extra eye on him, still not sure what his objective was. So after we had been there for 20 min or so he tells us that we have to pay the people at the gate for letting us in. We tell him we don’t have cash and he’s like that’s ok I’ll take you to an ATM. At this point there is no way we are giving him a dime, but we’re still trying to play nice bc we have no idea where we are and he could try to hurt us. We explain to him that we didn’t ask for any of this and he offered so we’re not paying anything. After that he left us with no problems but we were shaken up. Thankfully we found our way back and ran into some people that were on our boat and it turned out fine.
Like I said overall we ended up having a good time because we were in freaking Mexico and won’t let bad apples rain on our parade. That being said I would definitely book from their website or through your resort, and NOT a third party. Though all the native people were very “nice” we definitely could have gotten a better deal and more realistic expectations. I really don’t want to feed into the stereotype that everyone/ natives are out to get you or scam you… but that generally was our experience. Almost every person we spoke to outside of our resort tried to take advantage of us. It’s sad, but hard times don’t bring out the best in people.
I hope this was helpful. The catamarans were amazing but I don’t think that I will ever book from this company again.
