We had so much fun booking the luxury sailing to Isle Mujeres. Cancun adventures picked us up from our hotel. We got to the dock and boarded our catamaran. The drinks were flowing. David was a great host. The whole crew is amazing. Drinks are watered down but hey they keep em coming. The food was also ok. Chicken pasta, guacamole, ceviche (too much lime).
We got to play in the ocean then we had a blast on the island. The vendors are hilarious. Rent a golf cart too. Fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We booked our trip through the resort – BD experience. They are the ones that jetblue had booked for us to transport to & from the resort.
They have a “memory maker” on property in the travel office. This guy called our room repeatedly until we agreed to come down & get the “required ticket” to return home. Well, we fell for his scam. I’m sharing my honest review to hopefully prevent others from falling prey to the same scam.
We were looking at a catamaran to the island. The rate for normal trips was $69. We were told the boats were “very crowded” he convinced us that by booking this “smaller & better trip” we would be guaranteed no more than 18 people on our boat. We would stop for snorkeling & paddle boarding, weather permitting. We would have 3 hours to explore the island before returning home. It was open bar & lunch included. Sounds great, right? Wrong!
The price of this trip was $214 USD!
We did not know until we arrived at the marina that the tour was being lead by Cancun adventures…..
We were picked up from the resort at 1:45pm. We were put on a boat with no actual seats where they insisted we had to be. They had bleacher type benches that were very uncomfortable. We waited while all other boats left the marina but ours sat there. They kept packing more & more people on that boat. We had over 25 people on that boat! Thing is, the max 18 was supposed to be a covid rule. None of the boats were to have more than that on it according to the other travel agents on the resort! Then, I ordered a drink… once I saw how they were handling the cups & food. I did not drink my drink. Not only was our boat over crowded, they had no covid compliance on board.
The guys running drinks were keeping busy. The boat was packed. They handled all glasses by the rim. They stacked shot glasses in a stack and touched the rim of each one. There was zero hand washing going on. One guy found it fun to stack them and hold them swinging them back & forth….. This would bother me pre covid and I’m not a crazy, over sanitizing person. I just think handling glasses from the rim and touching other drinks after without washing your hands is nasty! Furthermore, they prepared trays of food for our “included lunch” they were all set out along the counter by the bathrooms. Everyone walking by there, nothing was covered! Gross! We did not eat the lunch due to unsanitary conditions! Then some people convinced the guy to go off course and let them jump off the boat to swim. We had already been told conditions were too rough for snorkeling & paddle boards. Well, they still went off course, never mind it was not part of the planned tour!!!! We did not get to the island until after 4:30pm.
We attempted to rent a golf cart but by that time, most places were closing. We tried walking around. It smelled like death. Flies swarming everywhere. I actually called our resort and asked how to get back without waiting on the catamaran. Oh yeah, the 3 hours to explore, it was less than 2 hours. Then, same issues. Our unlimited drinks… we could not utilize because they were not handling things in a clean, safe manner. I would have taken the ferry back but, it was dark. We were supposed to be returning at sunset, also false. It was dark. That was the only reason we didn’t take the ferry back. We were unsure where it would drop us off and how far it was back to the resort. If it were still light out, I would of taken the ferry in a heartbeat.
The return trip home was only about 30 minutes to the marina…. gives you an idea how much they played around getting us to the island. My advice…. stay far away from BD experience and Cancun adventures Also, I purchased their $50 picture pack. They did not send me the pictures as promised. I had to contact them twice after I returned home to finally get them emailed to me.
In closing, I must stress Do not book with BD! Do not book that “guaranteed small tour” it’s a scam! That trip cost us $214!! Sadly, I paid cash. If I had used a card, I would dispute it. This tour company is a scam!!! There were so many people on that crowded boat there was zero room for personal space…..
