Housekeeping does a fabulous job twice per day. Fresh towels and linens, replenishing snacks and drinks, as well as all toiletries.

This place is spotlessly clean, and a fascinating mix of animals (dolphins, manatees, jaguars, pumas, sea turtles, huge aviary, fun butterfly house, etc.), scenic rivers (loved the Paradise boat ride, decided to skip the swim) history, and cultural experience. It didn’t hurt that we were there on a day with perfect 75 degree weather and low crowds (covid?). Everyone was masked. We stayed next door at the Occidental so went home for lunch, then came back and stayed through the Espectacular. It was spectacular, but a little repetitive in some ways and TOO LOUD. Needed ear plugs. Fun to see the historical recreation of the Mayan ball game, and I appreciated the message that today’s Mexicans are a blend of Spaniards and natives. There wasn’t the hate we often see displayed toward the European colonizers. We enjoyed the view from the top of the rotating tower as well.

I have been to Xcaret twice and I loved it both times! The show is unforgettable! The place is beautiful. Take a bathing suite and comfy shoes because it’s a big place and there’s a lot to see.

Yucatan peninsula has much more to offer for real, than this man made money oriented artificial attraction.
I was hesitating if to go there at all, but having nothing else to do in PDC, decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was an expensive mistake and I got exactly what I’ve anticipated.
It’s an artificial “instant Mexico” theme park, made for those lazy tourists who made the extra effort of leaving their all inclusive resort to say they experienced “real Mexico” – some caves, some Maya dances and shows, some food, some animals – all packed in a steep US$ 100 pp plus many extra bucks during your Mexico “explorations”.
The Underground river is certainly the best attraction, but it’s solar years away from the unique Rio Secreto across the road (read that review).
Turtles in sea you can see in their original natural habitat at Akumal bay some 30 min drive away (see that review).
Other animals like parrots, dolphins, etc…you’ve probably seen in many such places worldwide.
Original Mayan temples, towns and villages you can see just a couple of hours drive away, along with authentic Churches, market places and food there (Valladolid, Izamal, Merida, Chichen Itza,…).
I think you got my point, so I’d like to finish with Covid issues – the only two places on our entire Yucatan 2 weeks tour we didn’t feel safe were Chichen Itza and Xcaret. Both places were packed with people, without social distancing and with many not wearing a mask.

We spent 12 hours at the park and experienced it all! We got the full day pass and did snorkeling, swimming in the underground rivers, seeing all the sea life and more. There are so many things to do with just the park ticket. We did purchase the photo package which was so worth it! We got over 40 photos. We also added on the SeaTrek option which was something I had never seen before. Lastly we went to the 2 hour cultural show at night and has dinner. It was amazing from start to finish. The food was great and they even hooked us up with a honeymoon dessert!
