AMAZING! Highly recommend this excursion. Sailing these waters is absolutely incredible. The snorkeling was great but pretty short. Waters were a little rough, at no fault of the tour of course. Islas Mujeres is amazing, we could’ve spent the whole day there and probably will next time. Great food, shopping, and beaches. We got a massage on the beach for $25/hr. Definitely rent a golf cart and drive around the island. Will be booking this again next time we are in Cancun!

We were in Cancún for a concert and booked this tour through CID. Anyway, the booking was not the problem but the tour was terrible. The staff were rude and robotic, the snorkeling was terrible and felt like a rushed survivor challenge. Not relaxing at all and lasted maybe 20 min at the most. They then dropped us off on the island and left. We had no towel and no ID to rent a golf cart and they clearly just left us there to shop (for three hours!). Then they picked us up and burned back to shore to pick up another group. No sailing. Below is the picture of where you are allowed to sit on the beach for free otherwise you have to pay whilst getting constantly hounded to by trinkets.
It was terrible. Terrible. terrible. A real scam.
If you want the experience of the island or being out on the boat, she if you can organize privately with someone to do what you would like.

We had an wonderful catamaran tour with our amazing guide on boat 6, Jorge.
First you head out to Islas Mujeres and stop to snorkle, then they feed you a nice lunch with open bar and finally drop you off at Isla Mujeres for a couple of hours to relax. They even had their own area on the beach with loungers and chairs to hang out. My husband fell asleep on one of the loungers but I explored the beach and found a massage “tent” and enjoyed an hour long massage for $30. I then went into town and walked around a bit–a lot of shops selling the same stuff but worth it to visit an island you’ve never been to. They picked us up and we enjoyed a nice sail back to Cancun with open bar again. If I go back to Cancun, I would definitely do it again 🙂

By far my favorite day of our vacation to Mexico! Terry and the boat 7 crew went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great trip. From the food to the snorkeling, the beach on the island to swimming in the beautiful blue waters – it was perfect! Thanks for a great time guys!

I took this excursion the last week of January based on the recommendation of the Sunwing rep at my resort who highly recommended seeing Isla Mujeres. I wouldn’t call this a “luxury” cruise, but because it takes a smaller quantity of passengers (26 max) with a nice boxed lunch and included drinks, I guess it’s considered luxury, but it was a very nice catamaran and everyone had a place to sit on deck. I ended up with the sunset cruise as the earlier ones were sold out. I would only recommend taking this if the weather is near perfect, otherwise it’s an expensive excursion ($100 Usd). I was picked up at my hotel around 12:30, we arrived at the Cancun terminal around 1:30-2:00pm. We left the dock at 2:45pm. I had advised Kevin our guide that I am not experienced at snorkling, hoping that he would be asking one of the other crew members to kind of guide me in the water, but unfortunately no such service was offered (available?). In any case, once we reached the middle of the ocean, we were given equipment for snorkling about 1 km around with Kevin guiding the group. Even though the weather was nice, I know from experience that the water usually gets a bit rough in the afternoons and this was no exception. A good 50% of us got out of the water after about 5 minutes as the water was rough and challenging (not to mention scary), so that was a disappointment as I would have like to have seen some sea life. The others (stronger swimmers) that stayed did the whole bit and did see some fish. You are then given a nice, light boxed lunch with whatever drinks you want (alcoholic or non-alcholic), the music is playing (they take any requests), and the atmosphere is very nice. We then have a 2nd attempt, but this time it was for paddle boarding. They had 1 paddle board out in the water and with the sea so rough, I hung on to that board for dear life. The others hung on to the rope and tried another attempt at snorkling. I lasted a few minutes and gasped my way back up the boat (I have a new respect for the ocean). I would only recommend doing this excursion if you’re a strong swimmer or don’t mind just a pleasant (expensive) ride to Isla Mujeres. Once you arrive in Isla Mujeres, you have 2 hours to explore or spend time at the beach. It’s a small island so you can see almost the entire place within the 2 hours. I didn’t care for the beach as I found it too commercial but I liked exploring Playa Nortes at the top of the street/hill, which goes in a full circle around the town to bring you right back to where the boats come in. It still has a bit of that bohemian vibe behind the commercialism that has encroached the area, so you can see that it was a quiet, unspoiled place at one time. I wouldn’t mind staying here for 2 nights but I was underwhelmed as my first impression. They have one long commercial street with restaurants, bars, and vendors selling souvenirs at various prices for the same items, so you have to negotiate as many are overpriced. I did come away with a pretty multicoloured woven market basket/bag for 200 pesos, and enjoyed some delicious ice cream. The sunset sail back to Cancun made this trip worthwhile as it was beautiful. The weather was still warmish and with the sail up, music playing, a drink in your hand and the sun setting, it was a really nice way to end the trip. I didn’t get back to my hotel until 9pm, so it’s a full day.
