What fun, what beautiful surroundings, birds. Very well done! Too many buffets, though and way too expensive to eat at them

If you are close to Xcaret already, take a Taxi. It was $14 to get to Xcaret from Iberostar Tucan. If we had booked transportation through Xcaret, it would have cost us $70 and we would have been on a bus stopping at other hotels. Make sure you verify the price with the taxi driver before you get in the car. Sometimes they change it on you because they think they can take advantage of you. Stand your ground.
On the website it says they want you to use sunscreen that only has titanium oxide and zinc oxide. There are other sunscreens that say they are “reef friendly” but still have chemicals other than what Xcaret wants. I bought appropriate sunscreen prior to my trip. However, no one at the park mentioned anything about sunscreen.
You do need good water shoes. You can buy some there for about $30. Also, we did the Xcaret Plus ticket (in combination with Xplore and Xel-Ha). With Xcaret Plus you get the lockers, a meal, and snorkel equipment included.
The show was worth staying for. They put a lot of effort into the show. My favorite part was the comedic elderly men dancing.
We ate at the Mexican restaurant. If you time it right, you will get to see the horse show from that restaurant. The food was fine there.
We did the Blue and the Maya rivers. I enjoyed doing them. You get your workout swimming in the rivers. There is a rope where you can pull yourself along. The first river we went to was kind of crowded. We snorkeled after the first river. Then we went to the second river and there were hardly any other people. It was awesome. The Maya river path was prettier than the Blue river path.
There were lots of animals to see but we were too busy with the rivers and snorkeling. This park is much better for elderly people and little kids than Xplore.

We had an amazing time, I went with my husband, my mom, and my 4 year old kid. We didn’t have enough time to enjoy everything we wanted, but got to do a lot of things. We did the experience with the dolphins which was great. If you travel with small kids do carry towels for them, cause it gets pretty cold after a while in the water and if you have the towels in lockers they are far away. We swam in some rivers. We saw a lot of animals, we wondered around the different lines of the park. At evening we went to the show which was amazing. I suggest you carry your towel and some clothes to get changed after swimming.

a wonderful experience right next to our hotel. so much to do and see . stayed in the marvellous occidental xcaret hotel which had seperate entrance for hotel guests . very popular with all nationalities. the underground river trips are amazing but hard work as they are about 1 km long would advise wear flippers

DO NOT Sell yourself and shy away because of the price. You will absolutely be in heaven and it will be worth every single penny spent! I say that after years of traveling and trying to save money where possible. This DOES NOT Disappoint!!
