Overall excellent! Pastor is very knowledgeable and creates a fun experience. From the beginning to the end it was more than worth it

  2. Kacie C

We very much enjoyed our tour! There was an easy pick up near our hotel (less than a 2 minute walk) and the bus was comfortable. Pastor was a FANTASTIC tour guide. Being of the Mayan culture he was able to provide so much information on Chitzen Itza in particular. The swim at the cenote was refreshing and such a beautiful place. The buffet at lunch after our swim was great quality and a nice hour to relax. We highly recommend this experience!

    Positives:
-Augustin Navarro was extremely knowledgeable and we enjoyed the information. He was personable and joked and people responded well to him
-Loved learning about the obsidian and participating in the ceremony and access to have our items purified.

    Negatives/ Disservices:
-Informational: Tip expectation is really high. (Some of us are everyday people who cannot afford to tip parts of our salaries when we are paying 350+ per night in the hotel already). People linger making it very uncomfortable in some cases. Keep in mind, we have tip expectation for very few services here too in the USA such as restaurant workers and various other service jobs. But we don’t tip at McDonald’s. To put it in perspective, we felt pressure to tip at the restaurants, buffets, excursions, waiters and waitresses bringing drinks, valet, room service, house keeping, turn down service, After a $200 massage, etc etc. keep in mind, it’s all inclusive so I’m banking on spending less money because I paid money up front.
-Bus was 10 minutes late so we had to call to confirm we didn’t miss it
-They never left anyone so we were often delayed and penalized for being on time and had our time wasted because we also weren’t done shopping but Augustin Navarro insisted on the time
-A very fun tour but definitely all an opportunity to up-charge or tip even in the “surprises” they offer. They legit stopped the bus in the middle of nowhere dropping someone off because he sold us tequila
-At the cenote/ lunch stop, someone tried to charge us $2 for ice cream although our meal was included. One item in the cafe was not, so add a sign to avoid this confusion.
-Navarro made a joke about medical attention to which I asked about the location of water. There were few benches and trees for shade so we were standing under the piping hot sun just after the peak hours of the day (10-2pm and it was nearing 4pm).

    Improvements/ Recommendations:
-No one pointed out the restrooms inside nor the location to buy water (humidity is new for some of us as some of us live in dry places so recommending bringing an umbrella or hat is HELPFUL. So so many people were on the verge of fainting, especially me)
-Covid concerns are the obsidian items and other Mayan treasures that were passed around the bus, touched by each passenger
-Should be a note on the website to bring “reef safe” sunblock and “deet free” bug spray to avoid uncharge of those items before arriving at the cenote although this is a HUGE tourist attraction so it’s highly likely the water is contaminated
-Really spent way too much time at the cenote and not enough time at Valladolid
-Augustin spoke most of the Chitchen Itza tour so we barely got to visit shops nor take pictures. We understand that the history is important, print documents for people to read along the way or on the way back or even take with them (some people keep these documents!) or put up signs, but pictures and the experience are a huge part of it too. This is one of the new 7 wonders of the world and we’re so privileged to see it so give us time to soak that in.

For the price, the tour was well worth the money. Pastor was an attentive and informative tour guide…good with info on the site and tips for things to see and do. Plus he made sure we were all back on the bus 🚌 before leaving!!!

Be prepared to spend the entire day with heat and crowds, but you’re heading to a popular tourist destination. Also make sure you have cash to pay for the Chichen Itza entrance fee on you as it is not included. We were prepared but some missed that when booking and acted surprised by the additional fee.

The Cenote is totally a great way to cool down. Bring a change of clothes, towel, water shoes + money for the required life vest.

Good way to spend a day in the Cancun/Tulum area!!

The bus’s AC was not working. Made the whole experience almost unbearable. We asked multiple times to increase the AC but nothing
