Amazing trip from the coast to see this fabled city. Enriching experience through real rural Mexico led by experienced knowledgeable native guides. Their narrative along the way gave the us all the background to the Mayan culture, history, and beliefs to prepare us for the sights we were to see. Upon arrival, being on site in the presence of the city and ancient buildings was an otherworldly experience. Our tour guides Cesar and Edwin prepared us well for the visit, and provided expert guidance around Chichen Itza answering all questions as well as giving savvy advice about the vendors and wares they sold. Then it was on to Cenote Samaal for a swim and lunch. Our tour was one of the first at Chichen itza, and by the time we left it was getting hotter (97 degrees) and the the place was filling up with busloads of more tourists. When our tour got to the cenote the cool water was a welcome relief. Something that’s so beautiful to see is hard to explain being such an “immersive” experience. Well worth the plunge even with all the people in the water at the same time. Lunch was part of the stop and it was a well appointed buffet with many local dishes served. The tour’s last stop was the colonial town of Valladolid. Again Edwin and Cesar gave their all on the history of the town and the vitality of it’s inhabitants and businesses. There was also a tequila tasting before we headed back to Cancun after spending a good half hour in town. Our tour bus driver Jose made us all feel safe and comfortable with his soft touch through some very challenging traffic and roads.
This was a day trip I was looking forward to while we stayed in Mexico, and was well worth it.

Miguel and Mike were great! Very informative, comfy bus on a long trip. Be aware though, if coming from Cancun this is a 3 hour trip in order to pick everyone up and then 1.5 hours out to Chichen Itza. Excellent info, and the Cenote was a highlight of our trip!

The trip went exactly as planned, was a bit rushed at times, due to time constraints. But was a good tour of chichen itza and fun time at the cenote.

We booked our tour at the very last minute but the company was extremely helpful.
We had enough time to visit Chichen Itza, learn about Mayan culture, swim in a very beautiful cenote, and explore a little of Valladolid.
