We wanted to do something different and as a family so we decided to go to Xel Ha! It was December but the weather still allows for swimming. Most of everything is included in your admission fee. They do try to get you on pictures. It was fun but not worth it. The food was…okay. But we still ate it!

We went to this place in December. The morning was very cool the day we went so I was freezing until about noon. We took a bus provided from xel ha because I bought a Black Friday deal. The transfer was great. It was free from my deal and I’m glad we got it. They explained everything and showed us around so for a first trip, it was good. On a second trip, I’d probably use the collective or taxi. We started with breakfast. I did not think it was anything special. It was cold and extremely busy. Food was edible but not great. Next we got a locker, very busy…too many people for me which I didn’t expect. Seemed like Disneyland busy. Next we did the lazy river. I was still cold at this point so I would not pre buy again, which I knew but I did get a good deal for Black Friday. I got my foot caught on a rock which hurt so be careful! My most memorable part was the parrots flying above us, very beautiful. We then did the zip lines which was fun. We did the water slide and I thought it was slow. I’m not into waterslides and don’t like speed and this was just fine, I was worried from other reviews but it’s ok. The wind is strong up there and cold but I’m glad I did it. For lunch, we didn’t care for it. For dinner we had Mexican which I did like. We walked around at least three times, and I didn’t think it was too much walking, but I am athletic. The overall price is good considering that drinks and food are included. I don’t like to snorkel and only went because my family enjoys it and I still had fun, even though I was too scared to go out and snorkel, so when you read my review, keep this in mind. My daughter who is 14 loved it. Lots to do even without buying extra activities. You can see the dolphins and manatees without paying to swim if you just want to see them. We stayed until closing even though we thought we wouldn’t. The only think I really disliked is how busy it is. I was not expecting that at all.

What a beautiful place Xel-Ha is..
We went with our 4 children (11,9,3,8months) not loads to do for the youngest 2 but the older 2 loved it, specially the zip wires.
It’s all-inclusive so eat and drink as much as you want, we only paid for the pictures at the end (that’s were they get you).
It’s definitely a place you have to visit if you go to Mexico, it really is a hidden wonder.
Amazing views and gorgeous surroundings.
Watch out for the mozzys tho!!

We went here in Dec, this place is amazing to snorkel and have fun, we saw loads of fish including sting rays, jumped off the cliff, saw monkeys in the trees, snorkeled down the mangroves just such a good day.
we spent loads of time in the water

Careless and rude staff, unsafe park and very expensive for what it is.
We went there for snorkelling and it was our third visit since 2008. But we were confronted with a huge change in the quality of the attractions. We paid the all inclusive ticket that included of course the snorkel activity. While in the laguna, we arrived at one point where we see a huge stingray and we followed her until one point where it was a staff person saying that we have to pay 9$ to get any close. We asked why but he was only saying “bye bye” to us while hitting our heads with pieces of bread. So disrespectful!
In the afternoon we came back to snorkel and while in the middle of the laguna, another staff person began to move all the water tubes (maybe 100) to the shore. We were trapped under those huge tubes but was a bit difficult to move quickly with the snorkel equipment on our faces. My daughter almost had a panic attack. I don’t understand how can anyone be so careless and I wonder it the park insurance company is aware about that. Would they cover for accidents caused by staff incompetency?
Finally, I noticed that the park management only care about our money, they don’t see people in us but only walking $$.
We will never go back again and we are very disappointed about how bad Xel-Ha has changed compared with what it was 9-10 years ago. I expect they will put in the future fees for seeing yellow or blue fishes, big or smaller…why not if they put a ridiculous 9$ fees for seeing stingrays!
I don’t recommend this park for snorkelling activities !
