Do your research!!
This is a huge park and the activities, shows, restaurants, etc are a good distance apart. The distance isn’t crazy long but long enough that if you don’t plan well it’s going to eat up a lot of your time.
TIPS:
– google the Xcaret map b4 your trip and get familiar with it. Highlight your interest and must-dos so that you have an idea of where you want to start and how to get from point A to point B.
– When you arrive don’t stop at the gift shop. Buy the Xcaret Plus and go straight to point 7 (the Xcaret Plus lockers/dressing rooms). Get your lockers and start from here.
– Don’t get into the river first. It seems that a lot of people go from the lockers to the river 1st making it crowded. We got into the river later in the day and for the most part, had the river to ourselves. We all got the fins, not mandatory but we found them helpful.
– There is more than 1 river to swim through. Make sure you plan your time well enough if you want to check out all 3; the Blue River, the Mayan River, and the Manatee River.
– Extra $$ for activities like Stingrays encounter, Sharks, Sea Trek, Adrenalina. Snorkeling tour. Reservations are needed and tickets can be bought online or at the park. We did the kids encounter with stingrays and sea trek, both were pretty cool and would recommend. The helmet for the sea trek is heavy, but not undouble.
– Make time to visit the Mayan Village and check out those workshops. Worth it!!!
– The best place to get our included buffet with the Plus admission: La Caleta behind the sea trek and next to the lagoon area. Live music and the food was pretty good for a buffet.
– DON’T MISS the México Espectacular show. IF you can splurge on the dinner, do it. We thought it was well worth it!! The show alone was fantastic!! We were all super impressed with the quality, the visual effects, the music, the artistic touch to such an awesome history. Viva Mexico!!

This bad review is just for ADRENALINA jet boat which was horrible experience. I love extreme fun and It looks like it is going to go fast and do spins, which they do a little but what they really like to do is immersion where the dunk the front of the boat and you a ton of water hard in the face. It is very similar to being in the ocean and getting hit hard by a massive wave and then being stuck under water. Also not enjoyable having salt water run out your nose. And they do it over and over again many times (I think they did it 10 times) which sucks! One time my head got forced to the side by the power of the wave and all that water rushed hard into my ear which was painful for awhile after that experience. When I asked them to stop, they kept doing it. This was the first time on my trip I didn’t tip. I cannot believe we paid for that torture. Highly DO NOT recommend!

So much to do – from seeing and interacting with animals, entertainment and swimming in the underground river. Well worth the entrance fee. Impossible to do everything in a day.

This would definitely be a fun experience if you were with kids but there really isn’t that much to do, considering the price. Maybe check out a different xperience but this one is too expensive for what it is.

This park is amazing and the ads don’t do it justice. There are so many areas to explore – cultural, ecological, adventure on and off land. I gave this review a 5/5. But it should really be a 4.5/5. I’ll explain below the few cons:
Upon arrival, we pre-booked a few things. One of which was the dinner during the show. 2 adults and two children ages 5 and 3. Adults are full price, children 5 and older are half price and children under 5 are free! Great!! However once seated at dinner, our 3 year old wasn’t served any food or drinks. So free means your kid doesn’t eat which is absurd. We were served our food and he was just looking at us wondering why he was forgotten. So we had to pay extra so he can have food.
Another small issue was the river entrance. There are so many at the beginning, with very little direction as to which one offers which experience. Once at the end of the river, we realized that other pathways went through bat caves. We would have like to know which one.
Lastly, the children’s area was an adventure style obstacle course with two water slides. Adults have to watch from the sidelines coaching along the way. It would have been nice to join the kids.
The staff everywhere are amazing the park is clean and well run. A beautiful gift shop. Delicious food. Very well organized and well laid out. We will go back again as with two small kids we weren’t able to see or enjoy all the things xcaret has to offer. It’s definitely a good idea to spend two days there if you can afford and have the time. It’s wonderful.
And the show!!! Spectacular! Hint: Pay attention during the finale!
