Ok. No information available, no maps available, you have to download an app. Very confusing park. If you don’t have roaming on your phone forget the app. WiFi traffic is overloaded.
So what is not so good.
Dolphins in captivity…Xcaret that is NOT ok. Many people in the water with them , people screaming lots of noise, how can this be ok?
Puma and jaguar in captivity, in a very very tiny space. Puma was pacing.
Horses being made to do shows in the heat. Not OK.
Snorkeling area overcrowded. People on top of each other.
Swimming down the river, overcrowded and people pushing you out of the way to get the one selfie on the cameras placed everywhere.
Toilets and restrooms very clean and show at the end very good.
Very expensive for what you get.
Xcaret – free the animals , it is not OK. I am ashamed to say that my tickets also paid for this cruelty.

Myself and my 3 children visited xcaret in May 22. We booked through the company destino riviera. The official xcaret bus picked us up from our hotel. Up on arrival at xcaret you get given a wristband.
First off, the park is huge! When you go through the turnstiles you enter a gift shop, then outside there are changing rooms and lockers (we struggled to find them at first as they aren’t right at the entrance it’s a bit of a walk to find them). Once changed we tried to find the beach area but got lost, it isn’t very well mapped out imo but we figured it out in the end. There are coloured lines on the paths, if you follow the black line it takes you to the beach area. Once we got there we found some loungers no problem.
There is so much to do here. You can swim with dolphins and sting rays, there is a snorkel area which kids can do. The lazy river is very long and was quite tiring for my kids. There are loads of animal including jaguars, tapirs and manatees. Lots of places for food as well.
If you get transportation included in your ticket there are two bus pick ups, 4.45pm and 9.40pm.

We loved the dolphins and the lazy rivers, the snorkeling was fun too. I booked over the phone prior to coming and for the plus package for 4, the dolphins and the dinner show, and photo package we paid $1400 CND. You have to go to a different place to get your dinner reservation receipt, then a different place to get your dolphin time, then a different place to get your photo pass so it was a very stressful start. Then it was hot and we walked and walked and the 4 year old couldn’t walk anymore. we went to rent a stroller but their strollers are ancient and heavy so we waisted time renting it then getting reimbursed while the 4 year old waited with dad in the park. Please Xcaret, update your strollers.
Bring your own stroller from the resort. Most resorts rent them. There is a lot of walking so even a 5-6 year old will get tired of walking. We ordered 2 double margaritas and a juice for the kids and that was $74 CND. We realized we could put our stuff in lockers and got into the river. That was fun!! We went to eat but the buffet didn’t open until 12:30. I paid $140 USD for 3 photos. The photo package doesn’t count for dolphins. There are a lot of different animals to see and a lot of things to do. The lazy river was awesome but we couldn’t wait to get back to our resort. We paid for the dinner and didn’t even attend. Was is beautiful? Yes. was it for our family, not this time.
Thank you to the staff for everything and we hope to return someday when the little one is older

Xcaret – made us feel sad as the animals are in captivity. Seems as though all birds have their wings clipped and are kept in cages. They told us different but you can clearly see they are clipped.
The dolphins are kept in a small space and are apparently all bread there but one is rescued. They wouldn’t admit if any were captured and avoided the question.
It’s just like a zoo but for sea life. If you want to see sea life then go on a boat tour and see them in the wild and not here. It’s very easy to find these sort of tours and can even see whale sharks and manta rays on boat tours.
Xplor – LOVED IT, so fun just make sure you’re not too scared of heights or challenge yourself and face your fears! 100% recommend for thrill seekers and adventure lovers.
Xenses – super chill and cool. Lots to see however if you’re afraid of the unknown or the dark do not go through the 10 minute dark tunnel. The staff may tell you it’s not dark but IT IS. I had a panic attack in there and they made me go in on my own when I see others go in in couples.
Xitchen Itza – I would definitely recommend hiring a car and doing this yourself it’ll cost the same amount. We were out for 12 hours and most of this was travelling and waiting around. Amazing thing to see but don’t book the tour through Xcaret, do it off your own back. We were so fed up and knackered just to see the temple for 20 minutes.
