Lots of people as expected, bring some cash, tons to do and worth the $! Shows were good but I’d recommend getting your seat early and be prepared to be packed in, great park!

This is a great day trip for families, lots to see and look at. Great buffet food as well. It is a huge property so bring comfortable walking shoes. Lots of places for pictures and snorkeling and just playing in the water.

Xcaret is one of our favorite places to visit when visiting Cancun. We make a full day of it. There are several activities that keep you active and entertained. Our favorite activities are the underground river, snorkeling, and multiple shows. While snorkeling you can see several fishes all over and manta rays. It’s definitely worth spending the time. The shows are great but the evening show is AH-MAZING!! It’s breathtaking!! Definitely emotional!
The food at the park is great! You can have a delicious buffet meal with a variety of options for kids, adults, vegetarians, etc.
Recommend this park for everyone to experience at least once.
Looking forward to my next Cancun trip to visit Xcaret!

We visited xcaret as part of a cruise excursion so we had about 5 hours to see as much as possible. They have a cave river that you can swim through. We didn’t do that because our kids are only 5 and 3. We opted to walk though some caves instead to start off our experience. After we walked through the caves we headed to the replica village and it was honestly really really cool. One of my favorite things was a replica ball court that would have been to scale with where the Mayans would play. The replica cemetery was actually really interesting too. From there we moved on to the aviary which was hands down the coolest aviary I’ve ever seen. It was three story and mapped just like a jungle with water falls and a rope bridge, birds everywhere. It was gorgeous and the pictures just couldn’t even capture it. We walked around to see the butterfly garden and the jaguar and the puma. The whole time we were walking around, we would catch glimpses of the river and the people swimming around. Add even though we didn’t do the river, I did find out that at the beginning of the river you put your stuff in a bag and they take it to the end of the river for you to pick up when you’re done. They provide the flippers and life jackets as well and there are lifeguards also in the water. After the pumas we got lunch at the buffet that is right there and for two adults and two kids it cost $100. So about $25 a person which isn’t the most expensive buffet but it’s a lot when you spend so much to get in already. We then went to the ruins which we cool. Not super big but they are authentic. It’s amazing to see this whole park celebrating the culture and the wildlife native to the area built around the actual ruins. We followed the path to the aquarium which was interesting. They also had nurse sharks and dolphins. They also had a snorkeling area separate from the river. The beach that they have isn’t right on the ocean and I found it to be a little small given how big the park actually was. It was tucked in a cove which I get was to protect from waves and currents but it also seemed not natural. It was all manufactured and built that way. We did do swimming for about a half hour and they have a bunch of inner tubes floating in the water for everyone to us. We had a great time here and it was beautiful and we didn’t even see everything. The kids walked the whole time but it a lot of walking and not on even paths the entire time. I also read that you needed biodegradable sunscreen so I brought some but they didn’t check my bag.
