After some debating, I decided to spend the $140 for the Xcaret Plus admission and go for the day. There is a lot to consider when visiting this park, so here are a few things I learned. The Plus admission is the way to go. If you are getting a locker, using snorkeling equipment, or eating a large lunch, the Plus admission basically pays for itself. I know it’s more money, but it makes sense. I was at the park from 10am-Close and had more than enough to do. I would probably go right at opening if I went back. Families may have a tough time with a full day because this is an exhausting park. They sell expensive biodegradable sunscreen you are supposed to use, but no one ever checked my bag or what sunscreen you are applying. Do whatever you will with that info and maybe save some money.
Since there is so much to do, here are my recommendations of what to see and what to skip. The three underground rivers were probably my favorite part of the park. What I did not realize, and you might not, these are LONG rivers (1/2 mile about) and you have to swim the full length with a life jacket. This is not a lazy river. I strongly recommend getting the fins to help propel you and using the ropes in the cave to pull yourself through those sections. You start on one end of the park and end on the other. I did all three, but you may want to pick and choose since they are tiring. The Green river is by far the best. If you only do one, do this one. The Blue would be the next best. Finally, the Yellow isn’t so great and doesn’t have much to look at. I recommend seeing the beautiful aviary, butterfly garden, and jaguars on the white path. The blue path has some really nice aquarium based attractions that are worth seeing. The green and red paths have some nice places to sit and relax near the coast, but most everything else is an upcharge activity in these areas. I would skip the snorkeling. There is not much to see in that lagoon and it is mostly filled with splashing children. I would also skip the jungle trail/river. There is almost nothing in this area and is probably the only part of the park that needs a rehab. At the end of the day, I would save the Observation Tower for right before the show. It is open late and you can see the sunset. The final show is definitely worth seeing, so plan your day accordingly.
Overall, I was reluctant to pay the price, but this is a beautiful park. It is the Disneyland of the X parks. The other X attractions are more specific, so if you’re more apt to go to EPCOT at Disney World, then maybe look at the others. But if you’re a Magic Kingdom person, Xcaret is the park to pick. It still is a bit more than what I would like to pay and I probably won’t return, but I’m glad I gave it a try.

Had a blast with my wife. One of a kind life experiences. The night show mexico spectacular was probably the best show i ever seen. My only complaint would be that they over price water knowing that you have to keep hydrated in order to make it thru the day

Fantastic Day!!!
I did not understand everything as I am unable to speak spanish. I did feel the energy and Mexican pride in the country. It was easy to follow along.
Cenote was terrific with caves, bats etc ..
Snuba Trek was quite a treat but over so quickly it seemed.
Buffet lunch at the Mexican restaurant was well worth it.
You could easily spend more than one day here experience everything.
