We went for the day and loved it. We snorkeled and swam in the blue ocean. Then we had 3 hours to explore the island which we needed more time bc it’s great there. The staff was very nice and made everyone lunch and drinks. Absolutely recommend it !

The excursion was not worth the money or what it cost us in time and inconvenience.
Our family of 5 woke up at 6am to be ready for the driver to pick us up at our resort at 7:15. When the driver hadn’t shown up by 8:30, the hotel concierge started doing some checking and found out they had gone to the wrong resort to pick us up…and then left.
We agreed to go on an afternoon excursion instead of the morning one. The food on the boat was different, but good (not for kids or picky eaters). The guides weren’t very helpful and told us to rent golf carts on the island, but to haggle on the hourly price. I wish we hadn’t wasted an hour with the golf cart…it’s better to just enjoy the beach and beautiful clear water.
We ended up missing our dinner reservations at the resort (one of only two we had at a specialty restaurant in the resort) and couldn’t make it up because it was our last night.
This was a $500 excursion. Also, I paid $125 extra to the airline for automatic check-in for our flight the following day because I thought we’d be on the excursion at 11:00am without internet access.
And neither Cancun Adventures not Amstar made an attempt to correct the situation.
We did the Tulum/lagoon/cave tour through Cancun Adventures and it was amazing. We had the best guide named Fabricio who was wonderful and exceptionally knowledgeable.

A family member and I went on this excursion with high expectations and booked through our delta vacations rep. The boat ride out was good until you get to snorkeling. It was hurry up this and that and a quick 15mins later we were back on board heading to another area to swim. On our way there we ate and they served drinks. Once we got there as well everything just felt rushed and not enjoyable at all with this excursion until you get on the island. They do a good job preparing you for haggling golf cart prices and hey I’m you’re waiter at the hotel. If I were to come to Cancun again I would find another company that wasnt I to rushing my fun.

We decided to book this excursion to actually get in the water since our resort’s beach was rocky and had a lot of seaweed. We had so much fun snorkeling and saw tons of fish and two huge sting rays that swam right under our group. Hanging out in the lagoon afterwards was definitely a highlight. It was clear water, white sand and shallow enough to sit in the water. Would definitely recommend!

I was with a group of seven women on a bachelorette trip. We took a catamaran with Angel, Dani, Daniel, Lenny, and Jorge. Our crew was definitely the best, and they really made the trip worthwhile. We shared the boat with two families with young children, and another group of adults.
First, we went snorkeling. I wish the snorkeling portion had been way longer! By the time everyone was geared up and in the water, we didn’t have a long to look around. We did see some cool fish and weird corals, as well as some very cool underwater statues. Now I know that I just need to plan a snorkeling trip sometime.
Next was lunch. Daniel made ceviche, a chicken and penne salad, guacamole and chips, fresh fruit, and a little piece of cake in bento boxes for each person. Honestly, it was one of the best meals I ate the whole week. As we got closer to Isla Mujeres, we anchored for a bit so we could swim. They moved a safety line out of the way so we could take turns jumping off the side of the boat. It was fun to paddle around a little.
Where we docked was chaotic. It’s really touristy and kind of aggressive, but I don’t think there are other options. We managed to secure two golf carts for a decent price, and we took them to the tip of the island, where the Mayan ruins are. I really enjoyed that part, probably a lot more than I would have liked to stay where all the shops and people were. We had three hours total on the island.
Back on the boat, we had some beers and some tequila while Lenny and Dani hoisted the sails. I think we were still under power so that might’ve just been for show, but it was cool anyway. Throughout the trip, Dani was taking high quality photos on a nice camera. He got some great shots of our group. The price to get them emailed to us seemed a little steep, but we went for it, and we don’t regret it.
Overall we had a great experience, and I think it was largely thanks to our crew! Angel, Dani, Lenny, Daniel, and Jorge were really fun, thoughtful, and informative. I felt safe and in good hands the whole time. If you can, I would recommend asking for this crew by name.
