We were told it would be luxury sailing which was very misleading. We were hardly on the boat and were dropped off on the tourist trap island for 3 1/2 hours. During that time we were not allowed back onboard but had to stay on the island although the boat was sitting just at the dock. I would not recommend the sailing excursion if you’re looking to be on the water; there are plenty of alternate options which I wish I had researched prior to booking. If you prefer to spend the day on Isla Mujeres there are also much less expensive alternate transportation options to get you there from Cancun. This was the most disappointing part of our trip to Cancun.

Our group consisted of 10 people and we all decided to book an excursion to Isle Mujeres during our trip to Cancun. I have to say that the day of this excursion was one of the best! We boarded catamaran #9 with Bryan and crew around 11am. The crew was amazing from the start. Bryan was very informative and the main goal of the crew was to ensure each person aboard had a fun and safe experience. The snorkeling portion was really enjoyable as we saw a portion of the coral reef as well as a small portion of the underwater museum. Then we sailed to Playa Norte and did some swimming and paddle boarding for about 30 minutes. After swimming we docked on the island and Bryan offered to guide us all back to Playa Norte and show us around a bit. Half of our group rented golf carts and drove around the entire island while the rest of us enjoyed the beach and walking the streets. The time on the island was around 3 hours before we sailed back to Cancun. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this to anybody traveling to Cancun! Nastia was the photographer on board and she took lots of great photos of all groups. The photos were priced very well so we decided to buy the package. Thinking it was only $20 per couple and we got all digital prints from the trip.

Crew on the boat were very nice. The snorkeling was a big joke, don’t go unless it’s the first time and want a new experience to see nothing. I watched the bartender sneeze and spray the drink glasses and booze bottles did not clean anything but kept serving drinks. NOT ANYTHING IS LUXURY ON THIS TRIP!!! But they sure make it clear they want a tip.
The island is just a lot of people trying to sell there goods.

This trip was so cool! They pick you up from the resort and bring you to the port. The trip includes lunch, drinks, snorkeling, swimming around the boat and about three hours at Isla Mujeres. There you can rent a golf cart and go around the whole island. The crew was really fun and pleasant. Shout out to Jesus B, our lead. Would totally recommend it!

This trip was booked thru Amstar who explained there would be 2 stops to snorkel in calm shallow water. I was told this would be suitable for me & my 31 year old son who has Down syndrome. The boat sailed from Cancun. We are both average swimmers & my son wore a life guard approved full vest PFD the entire time. The only snorkeling was inexplicably out in open sea. Passengers were told that the water was deep with strong currents & only for strong swimmers. My son & I did not enter the water nor did several others. Those who did enter the water were required to wear only float belts. This snorkeling encounter lasted only 15 minutes. The 2nd opportunity to get in the water was only to swim. The water was clear & calm. All who entered the water were required to wear only float belts. Everyone jumped in, including my son who was wearing a full on life vest. As soon as I entered the water I saw my son swimming along when a crew member retrieved him & lead him back onto the boat. He said the water was too deep for my son. I returned to the boat with my son who was quite upset that the crew would not let him swim. The other passengers swam while my son & I sat on the boat. We sailed on to Isla Mujeres. There was 3 hours to shop or sight see. After being constantly accosted by street vendors we gave up & returned to the beach bar where we were dropped off. We sat there for 3 hours until we were able to return to Cancun. Certainly not worth the $218 I paid for this excursion.
