Our guide was ok, not very engaging. The ruins were kinda interesting. Take the umbrella when your guide offers it. We were there at 9am and it was super hot!!
The snorkeling is a mess! You have to walk through 10 feet of wet stinky seaweed on the sand to get to the water. Then you wade though another 10-15 feet of knee deep seaweed to dangerously climb into the back of a rickety boat! The boat used to be an inboard but is now controlled by a man with a motor strapped on the back. The motor itself is held together by a faded t-shirt. No lie!! Lol! There are no safety regulations here at all!
Just a 5 minute ride to reef that was pretty, but very crowded. After 40 minutes of snorkeling you return back to the same disgusting seaweed trap that smells even worse as the afternoon sun heats it up. Really unpleasant experience.
Next…on to the (private cenote) 😳 30 minutes later you turn off the main road to a very long and bumpy 30 minute drive to cenote. Seriously bumpy enough to make you nauseous! Once there, it is the best part of the day. Really cool underground waterways to swim and explore. The lunch after was ok, but then another very bumpy uncomfortable 30 minute drive back to main road. Everyone was even more nauseous with that food in their tummies
Overall I think if I had yo do it over again I would snorkel one day and visit a cenote the next. I’m sorry to say I don’t feel this trip had safety as a top priority.

Worth every second! Mac was the best at making the experience exciting. Diego was also the best at capturing every moment throughout the excursion!

We booked this tour because we had limited time in Mexico and wanted to see as much as we could as efficiently as possible. This tour is a great way to accomplish that! We got to share 3 experiences in the span of one morning/afternoon for a good price. Our guide Claudia and driver Diego were friendly and helpful with some difficulties we encountered during snorkeling. We stayed in Playa Del Carmen and pickup was a breeze straight from our hotel. Ice water as well as two small meals were included to tide us over throughout the day. Fair warning the ruins were extremely crowded, though that was no fault of this tour. Snorkeling seemed to be a standard experience and the cenote was awesome and exceeded our expectations. Beware of cold water, bumpy roads to and from, and some tight spaces navigating the caves in the cenote. We also had a group photographer who follows you around all day taking pictures of the group and then presents a slideshow of all pictures at the end of the day with option to purchase for yourself.
