Such a cool tour and I loved that we got to do so many things all in one day! Our driver, Juan Luis, was great and I was very grateful we had the bus to take us from one location to the next because the roads can be quite a bit different from the USA. Our tour guide, Nora, was incredible! She was very knowledgeable and kind. I felt very safe with her and we had a lot of fun. Seriously the best tour guide and tour experience we have ever had! Highly recommend!

We had a group of 6 adults and wanted to check out some fun stuff in Tulum during our week in Playa. We were picked up at our hotel (there was one other group, a family of 4, on our tour) and headed to the Tulum ruins. We had a very knowledgeable guide and explored the ruins for a bit. Then we headed off to snorkel. It was a bit choppy that day to getting out to the reef was a challenge and visibility was limited, but it was still fun to see some of the coral and fish. We also checked out a couple of cenotes before we had lunch. Everything was easy and organized, water was provided, and lunch was delicious. They also had a photographer who was with us the whole time taking pictures and we had the option to buy them afterwards (we did – worth it for cenote and water pics!).

We decided to choose this trip as it included varying activities in one go. Firstly Salvador was an excellent guide, full of knowledge and passion for the history and geography of the areas. The trip to the ruins in Tulum is short and sweet, you see the main areas and hear the key information in around 45 minutes. From there it was a short ride to the beach to take a boat out to the reef. The snorkeling was highly enjoyable and Salvador was with us helping to point out any fish of interest. Please be aware that the boats are quite small, so you’ll need to be in reasonable shape to hop on and off (particularly if the sea gets choppy).
We then had a trip to the jungle where we swam in the amazing Cenote Characol, this was really peaceful and the fact we had it all to ourselves made the experience even better. However, to swim you must wash first, which means you can’t use mosquito repellent. I would advise anyone to take some with them and use it as soon as you are out of the water. Many of us were bitten numerous times, with the bites on the fairly aggressive side. Particularly as you go on a short walk to see an open cenote and explore a little further after the swimming.
This was a fantastic trip, but I would highly recommend long sleeve shirts, under armour or keeping your legs covered in the jungle. If you can avoid the bites you’ll absolutely love this trip.
