I have to admit, $456 CAD per couple is pretty expensive. But this park is massive and impressive! With the amount paid, you get the ride (pickup and drop off at the hotel), the entrance, all your snorkeling gears (mask, fins, lifejackets), a buffet lunch and a day packed with fun adventures. The only thing you have to bring is towels, but we didn’t really needed them to be honest. Mexico is so hot, you will dry up quickly. Do bring some sort of water shoes and water camera/water phone case. When you arrive, you will have to go pick up your key for your locker. You get change and ready to start with the lazy river. They actually offer bag transfer service (which we didn’t know) to the other end of the river. You can put in your belonging in a bag and they will move it to the end of the river so you can have your stuff. We wished we knew about it but it’s not a big deal as there are still more snorkeling on the other end so we would had have to carry our stuff around. After the lazy river, we went straight for lunch. The food was good and service was great. Then we headed to the snorkeling spot by the beach. There was a lot of people but the other side of the bridge was a much better spot as there were way more fishes on that side. There is so much to do and see that we didn’t have enough time. Plan out ahead if you can. We went to see the turtles, flamingos, sharks, birds (very nice), butterflies… We didn’t make it to the pumas and jaguars because we decided to go to the show instead, which we kinda regret. The costumes and production was great, but the show was actually very boring. We left before the end. The signages weren’t very clear but there were maps a little bit everywhere. Overall, it was a great day of adventures and discovery! Well worth it.

We booked Xcaret Plus Tour for our family vacation, and we had pretty high expectations, as we have paid a lot for it. It was the best eco park in the area and you should definitely visit it!
In the morning, we took a bus from Moon Palace to the Xcaret Park. The bus driver was friendly and showed us the things we can do at the park.
When we arrived, we quickly did our ticket check and bought the photo package. It’s not that expensive, as you will scan your wristband and take many pictures.
We went to the locker, changed to our swim clothes, and collected our life jacket. Next, we visited the underground river. There was a line, but it was pretty quick, like 5 minutes. There is a rope to help you out if you don’t know how to swim.
After we experienced the underground river, we went to the buffet to eat lunch. We got some rice and broccoli. It was a very delicious and nutritious meal.
After, we decided to go to the beach and also go snorkeling. The beach has a bit of seaweed, but they cleaned it up. When snorkeling, we saw some colorful fishes.
Then, we changed our clothes and returned to the locker, and made our way to the Mayan show. The performance was stunning, and we wished the other shows are as good as it.
The park was pretty clean and eco friendly.
Xcaret Park is a must go for anyone going to Cancun or stopping in Cozumel in a cruise.

This is listed as a must see/do but I can’t figure out why. It’s cool, but not $450 for 3 cool! If it was more like $75/pp that would be reasonable. The underground river was neat and so were the caves and history part. Not sure why people say it’s a must do though.

Go early. Snorkeling through the caves, lots of wildlife. The show at night is amazing. Lots of walking. This is the best tour in Mexico.

I used Get Your Guide for a day trip to rhe Park, including dinner and a performance. You will have a hard time there if your Spanish isn’t good, because very few staff speak even rudimentary English, which was so surprising bc this is a huge tourist attraction. They have some animal exhibits but the conditions for them aren’t good. There was a man-made cement pool for small turtles. It was shallow and the sun was beating down on it. The turtles were barely moving. It was pretty upsetting. Nothing is that special about it. Much of it is just run down and the customer service stinks. The Playa was the size of a postage stamp and it was not possible to swim in the ocean. Everyone was penned into a little lagoon like a bunch of lemmings. I stumbled upon a whispering gallery, a lovely cemetery and a beautiful church. All mote offers the beaten path there. The show was amazing. It was the best part of the day. All-in-all, pretty disappointing.
